The longer it sits, the stronger the flavor will be.

Just made a new batch of my favorite homemade vanilla extract (alcohol free), and I had to share! This recipe uses real Madagascar vanilla beans, water, and non-GMO food-grade vegetable glycerin. It’s vegan, child-safe, and perfect if you avoid alcohol for personal, religious, or health reasons.

What I love most? It’s easy to make, fun to customize, and makes a great gift. You just need:

4 vanilla beans

3/4 cup vegetable glycerin

1/4 cup filtered water

Slice the beans, place them in a glass jar, pour in your liquids, shake, and store in a cool dark place. In about 6 months, you’ve got a rich vanilla extract with deep flavor.
