(Lol I saw a comic @hiniparlousblog made about Vanderwood having to babysit baby!Choi twins and was talking to @tinydragonsnake about what would happen if Vanderwood and Elise had to deal with the twins and Samantha as toddlers. So let’s-a go!)
Saeyoung creates a youth ray to keep his HBC from ever going stale. But, his plans backfire and, as usual, Vanderwood and Elise have to fix everything.
The last thing Elise expected to wake up to was crying.
Crying coming from a baby.
Sitting up, she looked next to where she sat in Vanderwood’s bed to see three toddlers staring at her. The tallest had red hair, familiar glasses, and wore a black hoodie that was way to big for him. The second looked exactly like the first, except he was smaller, was wearing an oversized sweater and had tears in his eyes. The final child was a girl, with curly brown hair and who was hugging a small stuffed dog. A pair of glasses were in the pocket of the dragon hoodie that she was swimming in.
“Oh.. my.. god.” Elise whispered, shaking Vanderwood’s shoulder. The sleeping man mumbled something and pulled the covers over their head. She frowned and shoved her boyfriend out of bed, resulting in them to yelp as they hit the floor. “What the hell Elise?!” They snapped, which got them a slap. “Don’t curse!” She snapped, pointing to the trio of children staring at them.
“... What did Seven do this time.”
“I think this is Seven, Saeran, and Samantha.”
While the two were talking, Saeran had walked up to them and tugged on Elise’s shirt. “Yes sweetie?” She turned to look at him, her expression softening. “Up!” The toddler reached up, gold eyes huge and scared. Saeyoung had run off, yelling something cheerfully. Samantha was still standing where Elise had found her, confused and curious. Elise picked Saeran up, and the boy latched onto her. Vanderwood stood up and took off after Saeyoung. They found him in the kitchen, which looked like a bomb had gone off.Â
Pots and pans that were stored inside the lower cabinets were everywhere, silverware was scattered on the floor, and several drawers were open. Saeyoung sat in front of the island, covered in flour and grape jelly. He was giggling and playing with the pot in front of him filled with flour and jelly. Vanderwood groaned seeing the mess they would have to clean up. Saeyoung was going to need a bath as well. “I made food!” The toddler said grinning and pointing to the mixture in the pot. Elise came up from behind Vanderwood still holding Saeran in her arms and holding Samantha’s hand. She started laughing at the sight of Saeyoung. “Oh Saeyoung sweetie! You have jelly in your hair! Come on, let’s get you cleaned up before I make breakfast” She said, smiling. Vanderwood stared at their girlfriend. Who was this and what had they done with Elise?
The boy got up and ran over to the woman, chatting away as they walked to the bathroom. Elise was smiling and nodding at the child, occasionally speaking but mainly listened to Saeyoung talk. Vanderwood turned back to the kitchen and sighed before pulling their hair back into a ponytail and getting to work. At one point, Saeran came and watched them clean. Vanderwood didn’t mind and ignored him after making sure he was alright. The child knelt down and picked up a spoon before throwing it at the man. The former agent stiffened and they glanced at Saeran in surprise. He was giggling and threw another spoon at them.
“Saeran I’m serious.”
“Saeran!” Vanderwood turned to him just in time to dodge a fork. Apparently the toddler had ran out of spoons. “What the hell has gotten into you?! You don’t just throw silverware at people!” They scolded. Saeran started to cry at the exact moment Elise came throw the entryway, a clean Saeyoung and Samantha following. “Vanderwood! What did you do?!” She asked angrily, walking over to the child and picking him up. “Nothing! He threw silverware at me!” They explained, but the look on Elise’s face said she didn’t believe them. “Really? Saeran of all people?”
Throughout the day, Vandewood got the idea that baby Saeran hated them. Every time they tried to talk to Elise, the boy would get her attention and pull her away. At one point while she was carrying him, Saeran gave the male agent a smug grin, almost as though he was pleased with getting all of the woman’s attention. Every time Vanderwood tried to point this out, Elise ignored them, saying they were jealous of a child. They were not jealous!
While this was happening to Vanderwood, Saeyoung and Samantha were busy playing together and watching Disney movies. They didn’t seem to have a care in the world, acting the same way they always did- well, Saeyoung did. Samantha was quieter, but was busy off in her own world of imagination as she ruled over her plushes, pretending they were her subjects or having them go on adventures. Saeyoung joined in eventually, playing the wizard who rescued the princess. Elise took some pictures of the two and went about her day, Saeran following her like a baby duck. At one point Vanderwood had made a truce with the younger twin, realizing he was jealous of Elise giving Vanderwood attention.
After dinner, the trio had fallen asleep watching The Little Mermaid, and had been put to bed. The two adults fell into their bed, snuggling up to one another. “They’re actually cute kids” Elise stated. Vanderwood nodded, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer. “... I think I want to have one some day. A kid, I mean.” They looked at her, smiling at her red face. “N-Not now, of course, but-”
“They are kinda cute. But I think three is too many for me. One is alright, if you really want one.” They kissed her, pulling her even closer. They laid there, Vanderwood remaining awake as they listened to Elise breathe as she slept. “One day. But only because you want one. I don’t know if I’ll be a good father, but I’ll try.”
The following day, the twins and Samantha had no memory of the previous day. Saeyoung explained what he had been doing before he remembered waking up. “I was trying to make something to reverse age so my Honey Buddha Chips never go stale!”
