Finally got the complete collection from Top Shelf
Out this week: Tear Us Apart #1 (Dark Horse, $4.99):
The Flash writer Van Jensen teams with actor Jay Baruschel (How to Train Your Dragon) and The Ballad of Sang artist Alessandro Micelli for a new miniseries about death cults, assassins … and love. It’s about two teenage members of a death cult who fall for each other while learning how to kill people, which isn’t looked upon kindly by their instructors.

Superman by Van Jensen, Nick Robles, Dave Stewart, and Clayton Cowles.
Mogo is often cool but kind of bland and I really appreciate the way Robert Venditti & Van Jensen write them.
Flash #51
Writer - Van Jensen
Art - Gus Vazquez & Joe Eisma
Cover - Ivan Reis, Joe Prado & Alex Sinclair
Variant Cover - John Romita, Jr., Danny Miki & Alex Sinclair
The Riddler has the Flash and the Rogues right where he wants them - and the rest of Central City is blanketed by armed drones! One false move by anyone and hundreds die! But help arrives from an unexpected source, so there might still be some hope to free everyone from the Riddler’s plans!
A fun issue where the Riddler plays a figurative game of chess with the Flash - he may have him in Check, but there are still moves to be made! I haven’t read a good Riddler story in a while, so this one is kind of hitting a good spot for me. It may not be the ultimate Riddler story, but he has a solid plan and he’s got the Flash pushed into a corner. Really wanna see how it works out.
The art takes a step back this issue. It’s kind of sketchy and undefined in places and the characters aren’t drawn as nicely as we’ve become used to in this book with the like of Ivan Reis and Paul Pelletier preceding this issue. We’ve seen this all throughout the end of the New 52, but I still feel it’s a shame to just run off series with second-rate art. Bonus points for a great Variant cover by John Romita, Jr.! Captures the essence of the Flash really well! Definitely one of the best covers he did for this month of DC comics.
Not bad at all, and should provide for a fun wrap-up next issue.
