Aurelius Vane-Tempest - 𝕍𝕒𝕞𝕡𝕚𝕣𝕖 AU.

BACKSTORY.

In an alternative version of Sebastian's [ @occultacarne ] history, his ascension to the throne of Hell didn't go unchecked. His mother may have hailed from a long line of demons, but his father was of the ageless vampire clan. Of those famed Nightwalkers, Aurelius prided himself on bearing the purest lineage of their race. So when it came to be that a demon-vampire hybrid—a half-blood, if you would—was marked to rule over them, he objected. Leading his legions of vampire covens as their Patriarch, he rose as Sebastian's greatest rival for power in the unholy realm, eventually eking out a stalemate that saw him conquer half of Hell for himself.

Despite this, Aurelius could never quite best the demon, and in their latest fight indirectly incurred a permanent injury to his right eye. He has resented Sebastian for it ever since, tipping their rivalry into the realm of petty grudges as he strives to get his revenge.

NOTES.

it's aury, but as an AU-oblivious vampire

indifferent to garlic/silver/prayers, but hates sunlight

resistant to holy relics up to a point (but most likely deathly allergic to klaus)

has an eyepatch to cover up his eye injury, but is otherwise the same appearance-wise. it's affected his vision slightly, but he makes up for it with his other senses.

needs regular meals of blood for subsistence. probably hungry.

his preferred bloodtypes are A and O; which are sweeter to him than B or AB

currently very very insistent on getting one up on sebastian, whose scent he has committed to memory

wields a corrupted version of ithuriel, formerly a holy spear, as his primary weapon

in traditional (?) vampire fashion, waxes poetic with the purple prose, sorry he talks like a broken thesaurus now much to the impatience of his listeners. it is said that he spent too much of his childhood years stuck in the library growing up. however, this makes him instantly distinguishable from his usual self.

supposedly (?) an irrepressibly (?) sappy (?) romantic (??)

vain, but you don't need to flatter him. he can do it himself just fine.

rumors say he has a harem of 400 blood-slaves, but this is most likely made-up propaganda to counter sebastian's well-known number of successful romantic escapades.

caleb   nods,   taking   another   step   closer.      he   is   starving.      yasha’s   hunting   is   helpful      —      keeps   caleb   from   wasting   away   entirely      —      but   the   animals   she   brings   him   do   not   sate   his   hunger.      he   is   not   like   her,   after   all      —      she   has   already   killed   her   sire;      she   is   stronger   than   him.

“They’re, um, River is scary. And kinda weird. I, They avoid me, sometimes, and I’m scared they’re just not hungry yet.” He sighs, getting off tangent a little. “I wish they would just feed regularly like the others did. It’s better than waiting until they’re starved. Hurts more often, but less.”
