Febuwhump 2026 Day 15 - Test Subject
Tango trusted Zed. For all his rather unorthodox ways of doing things, there were always good intentions beneath them. And a few bruises only made for better memories. So when Zed asked to run a few tests now that the dungeon had seen fit to bring Tango into un-life, of course Tango had said yes. He himself was curious as to what exactly his newfound vampirism entailed.
Tango wasn’t quite sure where things went wrong. Looking back it was all a blur, all the little things like tasting a little garlic (and the subsequent vomiting) and checking a mirror (he had no reflection).
But now Tango was strapped down to a table and Zed wasn’t listening to a single one of Tango’s increasingly frantic requests to stop. He was humming to himself, completely ignoring Tango as he considered the items at his disposal.
“Zed! I know you can hear me! I said I’m done with this! Let me go!” Tango struggled but the binds held. Zed only took note that vampiric strength was not enough to break them.
Zed rolled up Tango’s sleeve and poured a bottle of what appeared to be just water all over his arm. It was not just water. It burned. Tango screamed and flailed as his skin bubbled and reddened.
Zed clicked his tongue and turned his attention back to his clipboard, frantically scribbling, intermittently glancing back at Tango’s arm. Tango could barely think straight, the pain blinding and all consuming.
Eventually it began to subside, the signs of damage melting away with it as his skin began to stitch itself back together. Zed kept scribbling, his smile widening.
Finally, Zed pulled his attention away from Tango’s arm, reaching to put the now empty bottle away.
Was it over? Please let it be over.
It wasn’t over. Zed turned back to Tango, smile wide. In his hand, was a silver blade.
