on the sentence level TVATV still leaves something to be desired but to be honest, I've read a lot of romance novels where that was the case. and on the story level it's not perfect but it's definitely the best it's ever been and that's quite a weird feeling!!

like, you know all those twilight posts that are like 'the Cullens should be doing college over and over instead of highschool, no one gives a shit about weird people at college'? yeah, I want that cranked up to 11 and thrown into a romcom

and I think it would be fun to have a protag who was kinda weird at school (precocious middle school "detective" to lonely high schooler) who SWEARS she's going to be 100% normal and average at university, but then she meets the most obvious vampire, like he's clearly a vampire, how has no one noticed he's a vampire, he exclusively drinks scarlet "smoothies" and has weirdly sharp canines, his eyes reflect light in the dark and he moves way too fast (no, greg, it's NOT just heelies okay) and he carries a "signed" copy of dracula everywhere he goes and there's a COFFIN IN HIS ROOM, IT'S NOT A COFFEE TABLE GREG, STOP BEING STUPID, GOD-

anyway now I want 'angry ex-detective college kid (x but also versus) the troll vampire at her university' please and thank you

#the vampire is just the WORST #but also charming and funny and he probs does amazing ted-style talks about ancient history #AND since it's a college romance it can just be a HFN #so there's not the pressure of 'eventually she's going to age and die and leave him alone'#because they'll probs break up after college anyway yknow?#so it can all be fun and stupid #vampire romcom #ANYWAY I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO WRITE THIS AND PARANORMAL ROMCOM IS SO FAR FROM MY GENRE #....but dang it would be fun ;P
