So the good news was he got his underwear back eventually, let's start off with that, but the problem was how he had to get it back.

Once on a trip to Thailand my dad had a mix-up and picked up the wrong luggage. He's a firm believer in not taking other people's luggage, and also in packing relatively light during trips, so this was understandably a Problem both morally and practically, as now he had someone else's luggage and no fresh clothes for the next week.

According to my mom (and you have to remember that these are just the parts he told her) it took the entire day to get his bags back, mostly because he was having a hard time getting anyone's help. Mom, over the phone, suggested lying about the contents of the bag.

The story is a little muddled here; dad says he didn't follow her instructions, mom says he told people the bag was full of money, and my grandmother insists that he told her it was full of, ahem, "bedroom performance enhancement" drugs.

Whatever the case, he got the help he needed from... airport staff who found the owner's contact info attached to the bag my dad had gotten.

So they called the number to explain the situation.

And according to my mom, the first thing they heard on the other end was mooing.

The phone on the other end hung up. Confusion all around. Dad has the bright idea of looking into what the fuck is in the other guy's luggage that he doesn't want it back?

Honestly nothing unusual, so he assumes like, this guy just doesn't give a fuck; it happens.

Despondent about having to spend more money on clothes now, dad leaves it at that.

Fast forward to later that evening, dad gets a call at his hotel from the airport.

The good: They got his stuff back!

The bad: They got his stuff back in terrible condition, like chewed up and trampled and covered in mud. Like someone really hated that shit.

The ???: Amid his luggage was a picture of a gaur. Like someone literally just stuck a polaroid picture of an Indian bison in his stuff.
