Austrian performance artist and filmmaker Valie Export (née Waltraud Lehner) has died, age 85.
Part of her art, arguably the part that lent her career some infamy in certain quarters, involved confrontational public appearances that forced viewers to deal with issues of sexism, specifically, misogyny and objectification of women.
