Armin rolled his eyes at Marty’s teasing snicker. “Yes, a rumor. It’s just a stupid rumor.” he replied, definitely more annoyed than scared, now.

The blond was less daring. He stepped to the side and carefully inched around the hole. He made his way over to the door where Marty was. He looked over curiously.

“What is it?”

    “It’s you!” With that, Marty shoved Armin into a dark hallway. They then slammed the door shut and held it while tying some nearby wire around the doorknob to keep it shut.

“Waugh!” A slightly quiet scream left Armin as he closed his locker. He didn’t expect to Marty to appear so suddenly. He took a deep breath to calm himself.

“Yeah… let’s go.” With that, he grabbed his things and followed Marty out of the school. His heart was thumping the whole walk over to the haunted house. The walk was only a few miles long but it felt like much longer for Armin.

The blond gazed up at the house. It was old and worn down, windows broken and shutters falling from their hinges.

“To be clear…” he began with a gulp. “I have to spend the night here? Just until sun rise?”

     The yard around the house was unkempt and weedy. There was what once was a partial fence around the yard, though what was left of it looked as though it had been run over. There were tire tracks in the dirt and around the chipped paint.

     Marty nodded. “Yeah, yeah. Just a night. If you chicken out and call for help, the deal will be off, ‘kay?”

Sometimes in his near endless time now, Marco had gotten into the habit of wondering and watching the others. One thing was wondering into what he figured were memories, watching interactions he had with his friends. When feeling bitter about being dead, he’d only watch himself and nitpick everything.

Any time ... himself... or one of the others happened to look in a direction he was in, he’d duck though then felt weird about it. Spying on your still alive self wasn’t that strange. Plus it was just a memory after all, it’s not like he was really in the past.
