kokichi is a liar, that's not a secret. everyone around him knows he's just putting on an act the entire time ā except for you!
you're a bit too gullible for your own good. every time kokichi starts fake crying or acting all sad, you come rushing over to comfort him!
honestly, at first kokichi found it amusing. how stupid could you be to really fall for his crocodile tears? are you that much of an idiot?
but then he overheard a conversation between you and another student, asking you the same thing he always wondered: how can you be so stupid and fall for his act?
and your answer? you told them you'd rather fall for an act than not to comfort a person who's crying and upset. because if kokichi's tears ended up being real, how cruel would it be to just ignore him?
it was in that moment that kokichi changed how he viewed you. while he saw you as a gullible idiot at first, he now couldn't help but love how kind you were, to even want to comfort a liar like himā¦

į°.į FOR THE RECORD. ā danganronpa
synopsis: what should have been a sweet surprise quickly becomes evidence against you. ft. kiyotaka ishimaru, korekiyo shinguji, byakuya togami, celestia ludenberg & mikan tsumiki
warnings: cursing, use of y/n, in game spoilers, LONG writing, typos
note: gn! reader this time ayyyee so the bros and enbys can enjoy too š
what started as a structured discussion had gradually unraveled into overlapping arguments, voices rising and clashing as each new theory contradicted the last.
order had broken down. the evidence board has gotten revised more than once, and yet the same conclusion of the most plausible suspect kept circling back, stubborn and unavoidable.
you.
kiyotaka stood rigidly behind his podium, posture as straight as ever, though the tension in his shoulders betrayed the strain he was under. his eyes had not left you for quite some time now, focused sharply in a way that made it clear he was taking this seriously. possibly even more than kyoko.
āyour unexplained absence is a critical issue,ā he stated firmly, cutting cleanly through the noise of the room. āin a situation such as this, failing to account for your time is not merely suspicious, it is a direct violation of the trust required for a fair and honest trial.ā
mondo let out a frustrated sigh from a few spots beside him. ātchā¦just say it straight, man. theyāve got no alibi.ā
āi am saying it straight!ā kiyotaka snapped back immediately, though his tone never lost that rigid sense of discipline. āevery student must be held to the same standard. that includes them.ā
near him, makoto looked uneasy, glancing between you and the others. ābut we donāt actually know why they havenāt said anything yet. there could be a reasonāā
āthen they must state it,ā the dark haired male interrupted without hesitation. his gaze shifted back to you, unwavering. āsilence in the face of accusation only obstructs the truth. if there is an explanation, it is your duty to provide it.ā
your fingers clenched into fists at his tone. why did he always have to word things that way? it was endearing at times, but right now it was not.
though to be honest, it wasnāt like you hadnāt expected this. you knew the moment your disappearance was brought up that it would come back to bite you eventually. stir up suspicion and possibly get accused of the murder. still, hearing it laid out so bluntly, with everyone watching and waiting, made your throat feel tight in a way you couldnāt easily ignore.
āiā¦ā you hesitated, the words catching before they could fully form. āi canāt say.ā
āhuh?ā leon leaned forward, brows knitting together. āwhat do you mean you canāt say?ā
āthatās not an answer,ā byakuya added coldly, arms folded. āif you expect anyone to take you seriously, youāll need to do better than that.ā
even toko scoffed under her breath. ās-so suspiciousā¦t-theyāre totally h-hiding somethingā¦ā
kiyotaka watched you carefully, as if weighing your words against everything else he had observed so far. there was no mockery in his expression, no malicious judgment (of course he doesnāt want you to be falsely accused), just a strict expectation that you would correct this. and somewhere inside of him, he feared the lingering possibility his classmates plagued in his mindāwhat if you really did have something to do with the murder?
āācannotā is not an acceptable response,ā he said at last, volume backpedaling to a lower one now but no less firm. āif you are withholding information, you are interfering with the trial itself. that is not something i can overlook.ā
mondo frowned. āif youāve got something to say, just say it already. dragging this out aināt helping anyone.ā
you could feel every pair of eyes in the room pressing in, judging, expecting. the longer you stayed quiet, the worse it looked. you knew that. you knew exactly how bad this was getting.
but just thinking about saying it out loud...your face felt draining of color at the thought alone.
āi told you,ā you muttered, unable to meet anyoneās gaze. āi canāt.ā
taka exhaled sharply through his nose, frustration finally breaking through his composure.
āthis is not a matter of preference!ā he exclaimed, voice rising. āwe are conducting a class trial. lives are at stake. if you have information that could clarify your involvement, you are obligated to present it!ā
the force of his words hit harder than anything else had.
for a moment, you didnāt want to respond. but exasperation burns through when your boyfriend, in this case, was like a bug refusing to let go.
āfine!ā
the word came out louder than you intended, halting the discussion in its tracks. even kiyotaka paused, caught off guard by the shift in your tone.
your hands moved before you could second-guess yourself, pulling the item from your bag and placing it down on the podium with more force than necessary.
āi wasnāt doing anything suspicious,ā you blurted quickly, the embarrassment already creeping into your voice but you remained frustrated. āi was justā¦working on this.ā
its fabric unfolded slightly where it landed. a neatly stitched armband, carefully made through with clean stitching that left no doubt how much effort had gone into it. the design was simple but precise, structured in a way that mirrored kiyotakaās own strict sense of order. a vibrant red hue matching his current one instead etched with a moral compass design and talent written on the inside.
nobody spoke for a moment. until mondo blinked and said, āā¦you disappeared all day for that?ā
āno way. seriously?ā
āwow...you made that?ā makotoās eyes widened in disbelief.
aoi beamed at the sight, hands clasped together as she sighed in relief. āthatās so cool, y/n!ā
on the other hand, kiyotaka had gone completely still. his gaze dropped to the armband, then slowly lifted back to you, expression unreadable for once. the earlier intensity hadnāt disappeared, but it changed into something hardcore of a realization.
āyou wereā¦making this?ā he asked to make sure.
you crossed your arms firmly, still refusing to look at him directly. āit was supposed to be a surprise,ā you admitted, voice dropping. āi didnāt think iād have to explain it in the middle of a trial.ā
hagakure shook his head, still surprised at the turn of events. āyou almost got yourself pinned as the killer over an armband?ā
āi didnāt think it would turn into this!ā
taka then stepped forward, headed to where you were. he reached out and picked up the armband, holding it carefully in both hands as he examined the gift. his fingers traced along the seams, taking mental noting of the effort and time it must have taken you to make something meaningful like this for him.
āthe craftsmanship is exceptional,ā he said, giving that rare soft smile he doesnāt intend to but saves only for you.
the room went a little quieter (ignoring byakuyaās comments of āmoving along to actually important thingsā), though not in that overused dramatic wayājust enough for his words to stand out.
āif this is the truth,ā he continued, voice regaining its usual firmness, āthen your actions, while poorly communicated, do not align with those of the culprit. your absence was not malicious in intent.ā
byakuya gave a small, unimpressed huff. āan inefficient use of time, but not a crime.ā
āoi, so theyāre not the killer then?ā leon asked.
makoto nodded quickly. āuh, right. thereās no reason to suspect them anymore.ā
kiyotaka looked back at you. the stern edge in his expression had softened, if only slightly.
āin the future,ā he said. āyou must understand that withholding information in a situation like this leads to unnecessary confusion. transparency is essential to maintaining order.ā
you groaned quietly, face still warm. āyeah, i got that part alreadyā¦ā
āā¦however,ā he added, āyour intention was not improper.ā
that was about as close to gentle as kiyotaka ishimaru ever got.
mondo snorted, deciding to poke a little fun into the situation much to your dismay. ādamn. you really went all out for him, huh?ā
your embarrassment instantly spiked again. ācan we notāā
but taka had already turned slightly, adjusting the armband with careful attention.
āā¦we will return to the main discussion,ā he announced, posture straightening once more. āthere is still a culprit to identify!ā
yet he didnāt remove your gift from his arm, wearing it like a badge of honor because of the hard work you poured into creating something meaningful just for him to wear.
all eyes were fixed on you as the evidence mountedāyour absence the entire day of the murder, the āconvenient timingā, that you so happened to have that most likely resulted in this class trial. its been dragging on long enough for patience to wear thin until frustration replaced logic. and now, it had circled back to you.
korekiyo stood beside you in the circle, listening attentively to the debate though his attention never strayed far from your direction. his head was tilted slightly, golden eyes reflecting a quiet, unsettling interest that contrasted with the rising tension in the room.
āfascinating,ā he murmured during a beat of struggling silence. āthe narrative constructed around my beloved is quite convincing on the surface. yet human behavior is rarely so simple. to accept this at face value would beā¦disappointingly shallow.ā
kaito exhaled sharply. āman, can you quit talking in riddles? itās not complicated. they were gone all day, right when the murder happened. thatās not something we can just ignore.ā
makiās gaze turned into that chilling one as it landed on you, causing goosebumps to appear on your skin. ādo you want to die? if you have an explanation, nowās the time to give it.ā
shuichi hesitated before speaking, but when he did, his tone was careful. āweāre not accusing you without reason. butā¦the timeline doesnāt work in your favor. if thereās something weāre missing, you need to tell us.ā
you didnāt respond to prevent the situation from getting out of hand (even though it already was, unfortunately). the silence stretched just long enough before one certain troublemaker fought it.
āooooh, this is getting good!ā followed by an excited clap.
kokichiās grin widened immediately, leaning forward with clear interest. ārefusing to explain yourself in a class trial? thatās basically begging everyone to think youāre guilty.ā
ādonāt twist it like that, degenerate!ā tenko snapped.
āiām not twisting anything,ā kokichi responded with an innocent shrug. ātheyāre the one staying quiet. just think about it.ā
meanwhile, gonta looked both concerned and confused. ābut, gonta donāt think y/n is capable of doing that. y/n not do bad, right?ā
āoh shut up gonta. everyone here knows the truth already and youāre still confused? come on.ā oma scoffed.
even keebo seemed troubled, by the way his robohoge stood in panic. āremaining silent under these circumstances only increases the likelihood of misinterpretation. clarifying your whereabouts would be the logical course of action.ā
the pressure wasnāt subtle anymore. it pressed in from every direction, tightening with every passing second. you shook your head, small but firm. āi canāt,ā
kaito dragged a hand down his face. āyouāre making this harder than it needs to be!ā
āthen we have no other choice than to consider you a suspect.ā kirumi added.
āitās not unfair if they wonāt talk,ā kokichi chimed in, obviously entertained. āif anything, itās super suspicious. maybe theyāre hiding something way worse.ā
āthatās enough,ā shuichi cut in quickly, though the tension in his voice betrayed his uncertainty. āwe donāt know that yet.ā
through all of it, korekiyo had remained quiet. eyes closed for a second in concentration, studying. āmy dear,ā he said, turning toward you fully now, volume lowering just enough to separate itself from the noise around you, āyou have endured their scrutiny with admirable restraint. but even the most patient soul must know when silence becomes a burden rather than a shield.ā
āyou are not one to falter under pressure without reason,ā he continued. āwhich means what you conceal holds significance beyond mere convenience.ā
that was the problem; it did. all you wanted was to spend a special kind of private moment with your partner and show him the gift you had prepared for him, but in this joke of a prison, your classmates have mistaken your (still unknowingly) entire day of disappearance for a murder you didnāt commit.
your thoughts tangled as every eye remained fixed on you. saying it out loud felt ridiculous. worse than ridiculous. it felt...humiliating, in a way you hadnāt anticipated when you first started making it. now recalling on that, it was dumb not to have thought about a scenario like this playing out later. maybe you wouldāve been ready by then.
but life decides things differently.
āi said i canāt.ā you repeated quieter now, your voice losing some of its earlier firmness.
āthen letās vote already,ā maki spoke like she was over with this entire thing already. and she clearly was. ādragging this out wonāt change anything.ā
that hit harder than anything else, because you knew she meant it. a sharp breath left you as you straightened, forcing yourself to move before the situation tipped any further out of your control. if you didnāt say something now, this wouldnāt just be embarrassing. it would be final.
āā¦wait,ā you muttered, causing the side arguments to hit the brakes.
you reached into your pocket, slower this time, your movements lacking their usual confidence. the object in your hand felt heavier than it should have as you pulled it out, carefully wrapped in cloth you had gone out of your way to keep hidden all day.
āi wasnāt killing anyone. i spent all that time in my lab. i just...didnāt want anyone to see this before it was finished.ā
almost done in unwrapping it, the cloth fell away to reveal a small talisman. it didnāt carry a simple or decorative without meaning kind of design. every detail carried intention, from the carefully polished bone pieces woven into the structure to the dyed threads binding them together in intricate patterns. at its center, the small carved mask rested perfectly in place, etched with symbols you had copied from some research books youāve taken out of the library for.
āā¦you disappeared all day for that?ā ryoma asked, blinking.
miu burst out laughing almost immediately. āno way! youāre telling me this whole trial was fuckinā close to going south because you were making spooky crafts for your creepy boyfriend?!ā
tsumugi leaned forward, eyes lighting up. āwait, no, thatās actually really detailedā¦those patterns arenāt random, are they?ā
himiko squinted at it. ānyehā¦it looks like something youād use in a ritualā¦ā
standing there while all of them reacted at once made it infinitely worse than just saying it. your gaze stayed fixed anywhere but them, shoulders tense as the reality of how this looked settled in all at once.
korekiyo stepped forward, simply reaching out, hands careful as he lifted the talisman, examining it with an attention that bordered on reverence. his fingers traced along the carved mask, following the engraved symbols as if committing them to memory.
āthisā¦ā he whispered in barely hidden awe. āyou created this in such a short span of time?ā
āi used your notes,ā you admitted with a nod, still avoiding eye contact. āfrom the book you left open last week. i didnāt want to get it wrong.ā
āthe structural accuracy and symbolic placementā¦you did not simply imitate. you understood its meaning.ā
āitās because i didnāt want it to look cheap,ā you muttered. āit was intended to be a secret until i showed you later. notā¦this.ā
ānishishi~ yeah, well, surprise! the whole class knows now.ā
ākokichi, stop please.ā shuichi muttered, though there was a faint, relieved exhale behind his words as the motive behind your disappearance wasnāt murder.
kaito shook his head, still processing. ājeez, you seriously shouldāve just said that earlierā¦ā
korekiyo finally looked up from the talisman. those golden eyes settled on you again adoring intensity. āah, my beloved,ā he said softly, āto devote your time to such a creationā¦even under these circumstancesā¦how beautifully human.ā
he held the talisman a moment longer in his bandaged hands before resting it carefully against himself, right over his heart as though it already belonged there.
behind him, the main debate resumed, attention moving back toward whoās the actual culprit? as the tension around you dissolved into scattered reactions and muttered comments. but the weight of the moment didnāt disappear so easily.
āyou need not shrink from their reactions,ā he added. āwhat you have made holds meaning far beyond their fleeting amusement.ā his hand brushed yours briefly beneath the podium, grounding.
and for the first time since the accusations began, the pressure easedāreplaced by something far more manageable, even if the awkwardness of the reveal still lingered stubbornly in your chest.
the surprise had been ruined. but in the end, not misunderstood.
at a glance, byakuya looked indifferent as ever, as though the trial were nothing more than an intellectual exercise. but there were small tellsābarely noticeable shifts in his stance, the faint tightening in his jaw whenever your name came upāthat betrayed something less detached beneath the surface.
makoto spoke up, concern evident despite his attempt to stay rational. āyou disappeared right after breakfast, y/n,ā he said cautiously to avoid togamiās wrath. āno one saw you for the rest of the day. if thereās a reason for that, you need to tell us now. otherwiseā¦um..ā
he didnāt finish, gaze downcast as his hand went behind his neck in awkwardness. though the message was clear; weāll have no choice but to vote for you.
kyokoās eyes settled on you next, sharp in her calm way. āthe estimated time of death falls directly within the gap of your disappearance,ā she added. āright now, your silence is the only thing filling in the blanks.ā
you didnāt respond. you didnāt want toāit was either going to worsen or result in more confusion, and you werenāt going to risk it. your fingers curled tighter against your palms, nails pressing into skin as if grounding yourself in something physical might make this easier to endure. but you knew better. it wouldnāt. nothing about this situation was easy, especially not when the truth felt so painfully out of place here. blood, evidence, accusationsāand then there was what you had actually been doing.
it sounded ridiculous in comparison.
āi have nothing to say,ā you answered finally, your voice flat enough to shut down further questions before they even formed.
ding ding. that made things worse.
celestia let out a quiet, amused hum. except you could already tell how much she was seething underneath that facade. āhow interesting. refusing to defend yourself in a situation like this is either very boldā¦or very foolish. what could you be hiding, hm?ā
āitās irresponsible!ā kiyotakaās voice boomed across the room. āa trial is not a place for secrecy! if you possess information relevant to the case, it is your duty to present it!ā
aoi shifted uneasily, glancing between you and the others. āyouāre making this really hard, you knowā¦? we donāt want to think itās you, but youāre not helping.ā
āstill refusing?ā byakuyaās voice finally cut through, cool and precise.
you shook your head in response. his gaze never left you, unwavering, studying every change in your expression, every flicker of hesitation you triedāand failedāto hide. he wasnāt guessing like the others. he was observing, dissecting. and his patience was wearing on thin ice now.
instead, you looked away, feeling that burn of fluster creep up your neck, spreading across your skin as the weight of everyoneās attention pressed down harder. saying it here, in front of all of them, felt too embarrassing in a way you didnāt prepare for. you planned everything carefully for one certain someone. the time, effort, even pulled an all-nighter. it was never meant for this.
āhow tiresome,ā he continued, tone edged with impatience. āif you intend to act like a fool, at least do so efficiently. your silence is not mysterious. it is inconvenient.ā
your jaw clenched as you forced yourself not to react. of course heād say something like that. of course heād reduce it to something irritating, something beneath him. wouldāve been easier if he just stayed silent.
āthen why donāt you stop asking?ā
āon the contrary,ā he replied immediately, āi will continue asking until you provide an answer worth hearing.ā
āā¦if youāre not the culprit,ā makoto said more gently (probably to get the words out of you). āthen please. just tell us where you were.ā
āno.ā
āā¦i see,ā byakuya scoffed, expression unchanged. it almost sounded like he was done but, āthen i will ask you one final time.ā
āwhere were you during the time of the murder?ā
you could feel it breaking you down, piece by piece. the longer you held onto it, the worse this becameānot just for you, but for everyone else trying to move forward. and somehow, that made it harder to justify staying quiet.
...
āi wasnātā¦doing anything related to the case,ā you started hesitantly, words coming out uneven despite your effort to keep them steady. āi spent all day in the art storage room.ā
āyou want proof? fine, but iām not the murderer.ā your fingers removed the lid from the sleek black box you had found somewhere, revealing the white gloves neatly placed inside.
they were unmistakably tailored, its cut matching with his usual style perfectly, the leather smooth and carefully treated. its stitching almost seemed invisible from afar, only noticeable if you looked close enough, and with the subtle lace woven along the sides and fingertips.
however, for a room thatās supposed to always be loud with arguments and people talking over one another, the trial room was dead quiet. even monokuma just sat there, though the tick mark on his forehead was prominent, just as he was about to get mad and scold everyone, toko beat him to it.
āw-w-what!? you m-made something f-for master byakuya?!ā she glared at you, clearly fuming at the sheer audacity of being so boldly direct (even though heās legit your boyfriend).
you stared back at the writer in confusion. āuh, yes? why wouldnāt i?ā you muttered under your breath, fighting the urge to roll your eyes.
then leon blinked, ignoring the storm brewing from toko. āwait...youāre serious?ā
aoi leaned closer to take a better look. āyou made those, y/n? whoa, i never knew you had such a great talent!ā
āso thatās where you wereā¦ā makoto let out a small breath, relief clear on his face.
kyoko studied the gloves for a moment before nodding. āthat accounts for the missing time.ā
you turned to byakuya next, admitting, āit was supposed to be a surprise,ā the words coming out more defensive than you intended. āand i wasnāt planning to announce it in the middle of a trial.ā
āhmph.ā was his response as he took the gloves carefully in reluctant yet poorly expressed gratitude, his usual confidence momentarily quieter as he examined them. hands traced along the stitching, testing the material, noting every detail without rushing.
when he slipped one on, it was a perfect fit. his fingers flexed once, then again, as if confirming what he already knew.
āā¦impressive,ā he said at last, though his tone remained restrained as to not show too much of the actual please he felt. āthe measurements are exact. the craftsmanship is acceptable.ā
you huffed lightly. āthatās high praise coming from you.ā
āit is.ā he replied without hesitation. āā¦idiot.ā
āexcuse me?ā
āyou prioritized this,ā he continued, ignoring you. āover your own defense.ā when you finally glanced up, his expression had settled back into something composed, but not entirely the same as before. he adjusted the glove once more, smoothing the fabric before turning his attention back to the rest of the class.
ānext time,ā he warned in his āspecifically for youā tone. āyou will inform me beforehand.ā a brief pause followed when byakuya cleared his throat and added, āā¦though i suppose the result justifies the earlier inconvenience.ā
and that was the closest thing to gratitude you were going to get.
one manicured nail rested lightly against her lips, calm composure on max, her eyes moving silently from one speaker to the next. unlike the others, she didnāt rush to fill in the missing gaps of the murder timeline, instead opting to wait until the right moment presented itself. and when it did...
āhow strange.ā her voice was not raised, yet it held enough to steer the discussion.
āwhat is, celeste?ā aoi asked.
celestia didnāt move from her place, looking amused, like the answer had been sitting in front of them all along. āwe seem to be circling the same conclusion,ā she continued, tilting her head slightly. āand yet, no one has addressed the mostā¦suspicious detail.ā
makoto blinked. āsuspicious detailā¦?ā
āyouāre referring to y/nās disappearance, right?ā kyokoās eyes narrowed a fraction as she locked looks with the gambler.
ācorrect,ā celestiaās gaze drifted ātil it settled on you. the word itself was spoken gently, but the effect was not.
sayaka was next to react with a concerned expression. āis that true, y/n? no one saw you during that time?ā
āyes butāā except celestia indirectlyāor no, most likely on purposeāinterrupted your response. āhow curious,ā the girl added. āmost individuals, when faced with suspicion are quick to defend themselves. and yet y/n remains silent.ā
āi already said i canāt explain it.ā
āmm, not cannot, but will not.ā
āthatās not what iāā āis it not true, then?ā celestiaās expression stayed the same. it was still hard to tell sometimes what she was really thinking behind that poker face as she held your gaze, as though weighing your reaction more than words.
sakura raised a hand slightly to steady the tension. āif there is a reason for your secrecy, you must say so, y/n. remaining silent will only deepen suspicion. let us help you.ā
chihiro nodded in agreement, albeit nervously. āi-itās okay if itās something small...you can tell us.ā
you exhaled quietly, frustration building beneath your ribs. this wasnāt supposed to go like this. none of it was. āiām not the culprit. isnāt that enough?ā the exasperation in your tone was obvious; you were starting to get tired of this back and forth. what shitty mood was your girlfriend even in, trying to kick you under the bucket?
celestiaās smile sharpened just slightly. āan assertion without proof,ā she replied. āhow unfortunate.ā
oh my gosh. that did it. not the accusationābecause she wasnāt outright accusing youābut the way she made your silence sound like a free choice, something suspicious rather than personal.
when the slightest of hesitation crossed your face, āah,ā she sounded pleased. āso there is something you are protecting.ā
āitās not like that.ā
āthen clarify it.ā
āoh okay, so you want everyone to see what i made for you?ā
celestia blinked, momentarily stunned. ārepeat that again?ā
pulling the object from a pocket, you placed it onto the flat surface in front. āyou think i was busy killing somebody? no. thereās your proof.ā
the lace caught the light first, then its shape. the full piece unfolded by your fingers showing a two-toned choker, black lace on the middle and white on top and bottom parts, added with subtle frill trims to match her white headpiece, delicate patterns stitched together to pair up to other gothic-like outfits she owns.
ā...huh? so we wasted time over a gift?ā
āplease shut that mouth of yours, makoto.ā celestia responded with a smile.
makoto swallowed, shooting you an apologetic look. poor guy just blurted it out without thinking. kyoko watched this and gave a sigh. āy/n, are you firm in your defense?ā
āyeah. i know itās hard to believe, but trust me. this took longer to finish for me to be on a killing spree.ā
kyoko cracked a tiny smile at that. āvery well then.ā
sayakaās eyes lit up in amazement. āit looks so pretty and delicate. you did a great job!ā āitās really detailed.ā chihiro agreed.
āalright, thatās enough everyone.ā a clap of hands followed by celeste. she turned toward you, her palm extended, gesturing for the choker with a polite, āthank youā when you gave it.
there was nothing about her expression that suggested surprise, only a measured sort of interest as she examined every detail. āhow meticulous. didnāt know you had an artistsā eye for these things,ā her gaze never left the object as it dangled from her hand. āyou devoted an entire day to this, and still chose silence when suspicion turned your way.ā
āsuch craftsmanship! the dedication alone speaks volumes!ā hifumi exclaimed, striking a dramatic pose.
even sakuraās gaze softened once she realized, understanding settling in without the need for further explanation.
celeste hummed softly, finally lowering the choker back onto the podium. āregardless of personal sentiment,ā she said, turning her attention back to the class, āthe timeline now holds. the absence has been explained, and there is no longer a basis to pursue suspicion in that direction.ā
kyoko nodded. āthatās correct.ā
as conversation soon redirected you exhaled in relief, the tension in your shoulders finally easing, hoping the moment would pass entirely.
it didnāt yet.
once the trial was done with, celestia moved past you on her way back, but this time she didnāt stop right away. instead, she paused just enough to glance at you from the corner of her eye.
āfor future reference, allowing yourself to become a suspect over something so trivial is hardly a wise strategy.ā
āi know. lesson learned.ā
ā...but. if you insist on creating gifts, perhaps i may request you to make me other accessories in exchange for becoming my personal stylist.ā she offered.
well. guess you donāt have anything to lose either way by accepting, right?
chiaki rests her chin lightly against her hand, eyes half-lidded but focused. āthe timeline still doesnāt connect. thereās a whole block of time where we canāt place you anywhereā¦and thatās kind of a big problem.ā
gundham exhales through his nose, arms crossed beneath the dramatic fall of his scarf. āan absence in the record is not proof of guilt. the void itself cannot act.ā
āyeah, but it sure makes things suspicious,ā kazuichi mutters, rubbing the back of his neck. āi mean, no alibi at all? thatās like asking for a big āsuspect meā signā¦ā
hajime doesnāt say anything at first, pondering deep in thought. he suddenly glances back at you, conflicted, like heās trying to find something in your expression that clears everything up without forcing you to say it out loud.
āā¦you keep saying you didnāt do it,ā he finally says. ābut youāre not giving us anything else to work with.ā
āi donāt have to prove something i didnāt do,ā your reply was instant. probably harsher than you intended, whoops.
the words hang there; not wrong on your behalf..but not helping.
ibuki jumps a little behind her podium, eyes wide with curiosity rather than accusation. ābut itās like a mystery inside a mystery! if youāve got a secret, itās gotta be juicy, right?ā
āit doesnāt have to be ājuicy,āā mahiru cuts in seriously, frowning. āthough youāre not making this easy on yourself. people are going to keep doubting you if you stay quiet.ā
āi know that.ā
āthen whyāā
āi said i know.ā
that stops her. not because you raised your voice, but because of how intense it sounds, like youāre holding something back by force.
before mahiru can start full-on arguing with youāa small, uneven sound like a squeak came from the side.
āp-please donāt fightā¦!ā
mikanās voice barely gets heard through the strain but itās enough to pull attention her way. she looks like she regrets speaking the second it happens, shoulders curling inward as if sheās trying to make herself smaller under everyoneās gaze.
the noise quiets down to hear what she has to say, but hiyoko isnāt having it.
āugh, what do you have to say now, you filthy pig? just hurry up and die already!ā
āshut it saionji. let her talk.ā you shot the blonde a glare of warning, then turned back to mikan, nodding for her to continue. hiyoko huffed in annoyance but listened.
āi-itās just⦠umā¦ā her hands twist together nervously, fingers fidgeting with the edge of her sleeve. āe-everyoneās getting really intense, andā¦and maybe thereās a reason y/n canāt say anything yetā¦!ā
...except hiyoko is quick to taunt her. āoh please, here we go. youāre defending them now? based on what, love confessions?ā
mikan flinches hard, eyes darting down. āi-iām not defending anyone! especially not because theyāre..um..ā her face rapidly changes to the shade of a strawberry. āi justāi meanāi donāt know anything either, butā!ā
āso donāt interrupt.ā hiyoko scoffs, only to be faced with an, āthen why donāt you?ā from you in return.
the nurseās voice catches completely, eyes wide, and for a second it looks like sheās going to shut down entirely, retreat back into silence, but she forces the words out, looking at you in appreciation.
āā¦itās scary,ā she blurts out, facing your classmates now. āwh-when everyone starts deciding things like thatā¦it feels like itās already over before you can even explainā¦!ā
thereās enough pause for her to keep going, even if her voice is shaking worse now.
āa-andā¦sometimes people donāt say things because theyāre embarrassed, orā¦or they think itās not important enough, orā¦ā she glances at you briefly, then immediately looks away, face flushing further. āo-or they just donāt want everyone looking at them like thatā¦ā
nagito tilts his head, smile faint but unreadable. āembarrassment, huh? thatās an interesting possibility. though i wonder if something like that would really outweigh the risk of being suspected.ā
āit might,ā hajime says before he can stop himself. everyone looks at him as he frowns slightly, like he didnāt mean to say it out loud. āif itās something personalā¦i mean.ā
āyouāre all making a lot of assumptions.ā
āthen correct them,ā mahiru says firmly.
āi canāt.ā
āwonāt,ā hiyoko snaps.
across the room, mikan takes a small step forward without realizing it, as though sheās trying to do somethingāanythingābut doesnāt know how. āy-you donāt have to say it all at onceā¦ā she offers weakly. ājust⦠a little is okay tooā¦ā
as seconds pass, you debate your answer. the pressure doesnāt explode this time. it just builds, quiet and constant, until itās impossible to ignore. āā¦itās not related to the case,ā
āthatās not enough,ā chiaki replies gently.
āi know.ā āthenāā āi get it,ā
āis it something you made?ā
the question comes out of nowhere.
mikan clamps her hands over her mouth immediately after, eyes wide like she didnāt mean to say it at all. āi-iām sorry! i didnāt mean to assumeā!ā
āā¦why would you think that?ā
āi-itās justā!ā she stumbles over the explanation. āy-youāve had thread on your sleeve since yesterday, and there was that smell like antiseptic and fabric glue, andāand your hands had those little marks like when you sew too long andāā she cuts herself off, mortified.
āi wasnāt watching you or anything weird!! i just notice things sometimes andāiām sorryā!ā
āno,ā your hand dips into your bag. āyouāre right about that.ā
pulling the item out, you show a small sized compact, but handmade; purple and lavender tones branding the object, stitching slightly clumsy yet reinforced decently, designed to hold weight without tearing. a soft inner lining peeks out where the zipper parts slightly, organized in a way that makes its purpose obvious the longer someone looks at it.
āis that...a pouch?ā hajime asks, confusion and surprise written on his face.
āfor medical supplies,ā you add reluctantly with a shrug. āi spent all night making it.ā
mikan blinks. then blinks again. she doesnāt know how to react; is she confused? yeah. did she expect this? no. but it does look really pretty..and indirectly compliments her hair color with its lighter tone. whether that was on purpose or not, that answer will remain unknown (it is).
āā¦forā¦medical supplies?ā she echoes timidly.
your gaze softens as it lands on her. āyou keep losing your stuff. bandages, scissors, whatever. i figured something like this would make it easier to carry everything around.ā
mikanās hands start shaking, tears welling in her eyes. āf-for meā¦? are you sure?ā
rather than getting annoyed or lashing out, it only makes you chuckle. āfor you only. donāt make it a big deal.ā
āiām notā! i justā!ā her voice breaks completely, and she has to press her hands to her chest as to stop it from bursting for a second before she can continue. ān-no oneās everāi meanā something like this is really hard to make properly, and itās really pretty and organized andāā she looks like she might cry for an entirely different reason now.
āTHIS HAS GOTTEN SO EMOTIONAL ITāS MAKING ME WANT TO TAKE A TEARY SHIT!!ā nekomaru yelled, wiping away a fake tear.
ibuki nodded aggressively. āyeah! if i wrote a song about this, itād be called, āI Got Suspected Of Murder Just For Making My Girlfriend A Gift!ā!ā
āmy, that title matches wonderfully!ā sonia encouraged, eyes sparkling.
hiyoko groans loudly. āare you kidding me? we almost voted based on that?!ā
āwell,ā chiaki gives a small nod. āat least that explains the missing time.ā
hajime relaxes slightly, tension easing out of his shoulders. āyeahā¦it does.ā
āitās fine.ā
the trial finally resumes, attention bouncing back to the actual case now that your alibi was accounted for. but mikan doesnāt move. she stays where she is, staring at the pouch like it might disappear if she looks away. āā¦iām really sorry,ā she says suddenly, turning toward you in a small panic again. āi-if i hadnāt said anything, you wouldnāt have had toāā
āitās not! you were trying to keep it a surprise and i ruined it and now youāre going to hate me andāā
āyou didnāt ruin anything okay?ā you reassured before sheād spiral any further.
she freezes, hesitant when she asks, āā¦really?ā
āyeah, itās yours anyway.ā
her hands hover uncertainly before she picks it up, holding it like something fragile despite how sturdy it actually is. āā¦iāll take really good care of it.ā she promises softly, voice still trembling but steadier than before. when she sees you donāt reach out to take it back, the nerves in her body loosen as she relaxes.
mikan will treasure your gift forever, thatās for sure.
I feel like... KOKICHI would be so confused if you initiated physical contact with him. (that wasn't violent by any means and held no malicious intent)
Like, he dances over peoples boundaries all the time and violates their personal space for shits and giggles, but when you don't seem to mind and actually engaged in it, he's genuinely concerned. Not because you're reciprocating, but because it's him, the least likeable person in the building.
He really wouldn't know what to do with himself in that situation, he just sorta freezes. Be it a hug, headpat, or holding his hand, his response is so delayed he doesn't even register what happened until you're gone.
Please, no one approach him, he's not okay.
Probably avoids you like the plague at first because the things you make him feel is so foreign to him and definitely distracts him from his supreme leader plans.
If he's ever questioned about it, he of course gaslight and denies everything and calls you weird or something but he has a hard time lying directly to you
Thinks you have some ulterior motive and calls you out on it but you're just standing there confused.
Once he figures out you truly are no threat to him, he's in a weird position. For starters, you're not gullible to fall for or aid him in his schemes and second, you're always hanging out with him when you can so he can't get rid of you.
He thinks it's annoying at first but once he gets over his ick with his emotions, he'll constantly align himself in your presence (Because he's touch starved and wants attention) and be his clingy self again.
He'll demand piggy back rides and drag you everywhere because he can.
Definitely becomes a leech and now you're stuck with him for good, not that you're complaining.
hiii!! i have a quick little request, feel free to answer in any form! i was wondering how some danganronpa characters (komaeda, saihara, korekiyo, rantaro and ouma) would react to their crushs talent being something vvvv out of the norm or morbid! like shsl mortician or shsl taxidermist! im personally vv goth and i work with animal bones in my artwork and have done cadaver drawing classes so im just sorta curious on how theyd react! thanks so much! take care of urself!
OO THATS SO COOL
ą§ š„ Ū« SHSL MORTICIAN . . . š®š¹
- komaeda, saihara, korekiyo, rantaro, and ouma!
- warnings : mentions of dead bodies n kinda dark stuff but not rlly???,korekiyo killing ppl, not really gore-y tho?
Nagito, kokichi, kiibo, fuyuhiko, rantaro, with an s/o who comes across as very stoic (like kirigiri) but when it comes to physical affection gets really red in the face? Even with friends they just get embarrassed and just arenāt used to it.
Nagito doesnāt mind if you get a bit red! He of course always asks before he can put his filthy hands on you, but he always loves seeing how flustered you get! He comes to the conclusion rather quickly youāre like that with everyone, and that heās nothing special. Still makes him super happy though. He wonders if you grew up with not getting affection, maybe thatās why you get so embarrassed!
Kokichi will definitely tease you for this, āDāaww youāre blushing! How adorable!!ā and he will tease you for it everytime. He does get a little jealous though that you blush when others hug you as well, but heās good at hiding it! He just thinks itās so funny how somebody like you can get so embarrassed by stuff like that.
Kiibo is similar, he gets very flustered by physical affection since he does not receive it often. This includes with anyone else, so he doesnāt judge you for being the same way. He usually asks before he can be affectionate with you, and youāre both absolute blushy messes by the end of it.
Fuyuhiko is pretty similar, he gets embarrassed by souda and peko smothering him, and even when hiyoko teasingly pinches his cheeks. He gets it and doesnāt care much? He secretly thinks itās cute though, since itās rare to see you give away how you really feel. He always takes it in and stares for a bit.
Rantaro is a smart guy, but even he can almost never be able to read you. So he just really loves it whenever you blush, itās the one time he knows what youāre feeling and sees you being vulnerable. He thinks itās really cute how anyone could simply grab your hand or throw an arm around your shoulder and youāre a complete mess. For him, itās a nice change of pace.

I was wondering if you'd write Kokichi and Kiibo with an S/O who has a lot of previously feral cats as pets? I dunno if that's too specific, but if it is, you can remove the feral part.
Kiibo and Kokichi with a S/O who has a lot of previously feral cats as pets
Oh! Don't worry about it, that wasn't too specific ^^ Though, I don't think I really ever specified that the cats were feral
I just think this whole idea is so adorable hahshs
Kiibo
... So you know Baymax from big hero 6-
No no, just kidding. Hahah....
Kiibo loves your cats! And just how many there are ā”
Although he was a bit confused at first, he quickly learns how to take care of them and enjoys helping you with it.
One time, a kitten was laying on Kiibo's lap as he was petting it. Then it started to pur. Kiibo stopped petting them, as the kitty looked at him with confusion in its eyes.
He picked up the cat (in the most awkward way ever) and brought it to you, saying:
" I think your cat is broken š„"
Please don't laugh at him, he is a very smart robo-boy trying his best. And there's a difference between knowing something and seeing it in action. How was he supposed to know that cats do that??
These kitties have been adopted as your and Kiibo's fur babies. He loves them just as much as you do <3
Kokichi
He sees just one cat and is already best friends with it. Then he finds out you have more of them.
Kokichi recruits these kitties as official members of D.I.C.E. You just stand there š¶ as he hosts a super secret meeting with them (which actually just consists of him petting and playing with them).
He LOVES playing with them, using those lasers and plush mice on strings. He does, in fact, buy those toys for them. Or make them himself (these however, are not very durable).
Ouma, somehow, remembers all of their names?? And comes up with his own names for them??? Nicknames, middle names.
He likes holding them. Just walking around with a kitty in his hands/arms.
Once you woke up with a cat in front of your face, being held by Kokichi.
yeah so this blog is basically like dead,, but i'll work on a few requests (ones i can do) and will just,
?
Thank you for requesting nonnie <3
⬄ A bartender may be the perfect disguise for an agent.
Warning: reader consumes alcohol, if you wanna skip that part ignore the text put in a bracket []
⬄ You see, people usually go to the bar to quickly down an alcoholic drink or to stay there for a while, getting drunk and lamenting about their life.
⬄ It is extremely simple to get information out of them. While it may not be the most... Transparent way of going about it, it certainly is more moral than some others.
⬄ As a bartender, Rantaro often strikes up a simple conversation with his clients. Nothing too suspicious or out of the ordinary. A few drinks down and their life stories are spilling out from themselves.
⬄ In any case, it was just a normal day of serving drinks and talking with not-so-sober people. Until you came up to him.
⬄ you looked terrible
⬄ Dark circles under your eyes, clearly tired, and already hovering over the counter.
⬄So Rantaro passed you a glass of water, despite you mumbling some sort of (most likely alcohol containing) drink you were going to order.
⬄ Despite the drink not having any sort of alcohol in it, you still began telling him about your problems and what not.
⬄ At first Rantaro listened while he tended to his other work duties, sparing you a few occasional glances. But the more you kept going, he couldn't help but direct all his attention to you.
⬄ Despite being a mess in the current moment, there was something so strangely charming about you.
⬄ Soon enough Rantaro would find himself being a mess, once you were done and looked at hm, only to be confused as to why is staring at you with a smile.
⬄ He coughed and simply told not to worry about paying anything, as it was 'on the house' (read: he just gave you tap water).
⬄ In fact, Rantaro offered to pay for your cab, and by offered, I mean insisted.
⬄ He sighed once you had left, realizing this was one of the few times he ever broke character when playing the role of a bartender.
⬄ fuck
⬄At least it was only a once in a while occurrence.
⬄ So imagine his utmost delight and panic upon finding you there once again during the next day, looking much more ,, sober
⬄ fuck ²
⬄ It ended with you and him chatting the night away, before exchanging numbers.
⬄ Not too long after you began dating.
⬄ Although Rantaro hasn't come clean about being a secret agent yet, but he will in due time + it's quite likely you have found out yourselves, after stumbling upon one of his several fake IDs.
⬄ Through your slight suspicion you still decided to trust him; which is something he loved you form
