Not sure if it’s obvious but I dont really draw sans much often, much less am a super fan of him or the sans aus qhjdbjas

Apparently its suppper obvious to my friends who all have been through a sans phase and i got made fun of for it—i have never felt more insulted than ever in my life 😭

His creation was inspired by a dream I had some time ago about a Sans who was shattered across time and space in a similar way to Core Frisk, but retaining a lot more of himself in exchange for needing to stay in the Void more often than not.

His whole deal is that he knows very well that balance is vital in maintaining a flourishing Multiverse, and y'know, he lives there, so he'd like to keep it healthy (unlike himself with how little he takes care of himself (not like he can die probably?))

He's willing to do anything to ensure the balance between Creation, Destruction, Positivity, and Negativity remains consistent.

He'll show up to whoever is lacking and offer his services. Most times lending a creative ear to Ink (who promptly forgets him), spreading cheer with Dream or working for Nightmare temporarily. He's never met Error, but if Creation goes a bit far and he's lagging behind, then V'll just break things or put on a good chase for the guy to help him catch up.

His morality is not determined by action. He'll kill one day, then help an old lady with her shopping the next. He does have enough of a soul to understand empathy, but his sense of survival is stronger. He'll really only offer his services or take action if he needs to, knowing in most cases either the Stars or the Bad Sans' will correctly tip the scales.

He travels across universes through the Void, so if a universe is not connected to the Void, he cannot reach it. He also, because of this, cannot reach the Doodlesphere or the Anti-Void (and he's convinced being in there would instantly kill him anyway, so he's not eager to visit).

He tries to stay under the radar, but ultimately, because of one of his other "duties", he's earned himself the title of The Ferryman. He'll help deliver people from dead or dying universes to the Omega Timeline, and sometimes just take people in and out of Universes if they ask really nicely, like a reverse Charon, taking people from certain death and giving them a new chance at life.

His head is completely black and emanates darkness from the Void, being the place most damaged from nearly dying, which was an accident, and he doesn't blame his human for it, they were trying to save him by resetting, not knowing what it would do to him and so he holds no ill will towards any humans.

Because he lacks an entire head, he can't emote and remedies this by taking the faces of those he meets if he likes their look. His favourite is the one seen in the main ref, being the first one he stole and conveniently being Ink's face (he does not remember this). The creator easily made a new face, so no harm done, but others are not so lucky. These faces are a moment in time, and so do not move; he calls them masks. Wherever there is an open space, the void peeks through, and so he does not and cannot have lights in his eyes. He switches them out like this!

He comes from just a normal Undertale diversion, where he happened to meet the same fate as Gaster, Frisk reset as he died, trying to save him, only resulting in him being partially shattered. He was still forgotten, but he stuck together in the Void. This is why leaving the Void for too long takes a toll on him and why he has to return regularly to keep himself together, else he will fall apart and become just like Gaster (of which there are so many in the Void).

His movement in general is very stilted and doesn't use a lot of body language unless he's either making a point or being funny, because he IS still funny. He's mostly sarcastic but still loves puns and pranks (Don't put him in a room with Reaper, Epic or Fresh because they'd have a great time).

If you noticed the knives, he tries not to rely on magic since he partially blames his death on doing just that. He's more athletic than a classic Sans but still loves doing absolutely nothing and, for days on end, will sleep in the Void until he feels a disturbance. He can still use magic and has the same tricks a Classic would have, but now with custom Void-made daggers! (He totally stole the vibe from Killer.) He does not, however, have Karma, as he is no longer a judge.

Honestly, he's just kinda a guy. Not quite bad, not quite good. Mostly just doing whatever is needed at the time to keep living. He'll always be on whichever side is losing until balance is restored, but if it begins to tip the other way, then he's done too good of a job and switches until the Multiverse itself can deal with it. You can call him selfish, but in the end, it keeps the Multiverse safe.
