a fundamental aspect of Ivan and Till’s relationship is their inability to understand each other
but we do see Ivan try to understand him… like when he mimics what Till does
if he can’t understand why Till would tell a flower to cheer up, then maybe copying him will help?

until Mizi shows up, Till in Round 7 follows the rules perfectly—no matter what Luka does, he just keeps singing his assigned parts to the best of his ability. it’s the “perfect” round for the segyein audience who want to see the ultimate singing battle
but following rules and catering to expectations… is exactly what Ivan would do
with the little time he had left, Till really tried his hardest to understand Ivan… why he did what he did, and how much it hurt to have to suppress your true nature to survive…
