Dess is dead. She's been dead for a long time.

The Roaring Knight is still most likely to be Dess, but this may not depend on Dess being alive.

That Noelle is still searching Dess's name online, it's unclear whether she's trying to find her or any news about her case... but I'm starting to lean away from the idea that her case is still open...

Is the other reason Noelle's such a people-pleaser because of abandonment issues?
