Music had always been powerful. But your magic. Your magic could rewrite reality itself. When you first arrived on the island where Uta was preparing for her grand concert, people thought you were just another fan.
They didn’t see the faint scarlet glow that shimmered around your fingers. They didn’t hear the way the air bent slightly whenever your emotions shifted. Uta noticed immediately. Her crimson eyes locked onto you in the crowd long before the concert started.
Because your power felt strange. Not like Haki. Not like a Devil Fruit. It felt like the world itself was listening to you. Backstage, Uta found you standing alone near the stage lights.
“You’re not normal,” she said bluntly.
You raised an eyebrow. “Neither are you.”
For a moment there was silence then she laughed.
“You’re funny. I like you.”
Her voice carried the strange resonance of the Uta Uta no Mi, the power that let her pull people into her music world.
But something unexpected happened. When her voice brushed against your mind, your chaos magic pushed back. Scarlet energy flickered around you. Uta froze.
“…You resisted it.”
You shrugged slightly.
“Reality listens to me.”
Her eyes lit up like a child discovering a new toy.
“Then you’re perfect.”
When the concert began, thousands were pulled into Uta’s musical world. Except you didn’t just appear there. You entered like a goddess stepping into her own dream. Scarlet energy flowed around the bright pastel dreamscape Uta had created. When she saw you there, she smiled wider than ever before.
“You’re the first person who came here by choice.”
You walked closer.
“And you’re the first person whose power tried to change my reality.”
The two of you stood there, music vs chaos magic. Opposites, but strangely compatible. Uta leaned closer, studying the glowing red magic around your hands.
“You could break this world if you wanted,” she said softly.
“Yes.”
“But you didn’t.”
You tilted your head.
“Because you made it.”
For the first time, Uta looked genuinely surprised. Then she smiled gently.
“Stay with me in this world.”
Your magic pulsed, reacting to her voice. Reality bent slightly around the stage lights.
“Careful,” you teased. “I might rewrite it so we never leave.”
Uta laughed.
“Then I’ll just keep singing forever.”
And for once chaos magic didn’t feel destructive. It felt like harmony. Scarlet power swirling through a world made of music.
Uta’s songs amplify your chaos magic. Your magic stabilizes her dream world so it doesn’t collapse. Together they can create an entire shared reality made of music and magic. Uta becomes very clingy because you’re the only person immune to losing themselves in her power.

Do you write for uta from Tokyo ghoul and if so may I add you to my Tokyo ghoul writers list?
Uh, yeah — I could totally do that.
Going back to old stories feels really cozy to me, honestly.
Just let me know what kind of Uta you’re imagining, maybe with a small example.
Genre(s)/Tag(s): Male!Reader, Gore, Descriptions of Injuries, Major Character Death (but y'know… vampires), possibly OOC Uta? Idk he's grieving
Notes: My first male!reader :) pls be patient with me as I learn this new kind of character! (Also, if anyone has any tips for writing a male!reader, lmk)
Also, I don't know if I even confirm that the reader is a vampire? But that's kind of what's happening here.
__________________________________________________________________________
You died on a Sunday.
The coroner labeled it an accident. The wrong place at the wrong time, as they put it.
Uta had been waiting for you to get home when he got the call. He was your emergency contact; you had been together for years, so it made sense. You were being transported to Tokyo General Hospital, but your prospects weren't looking good. The police officer wouldn't say much over the phone, only that he needed to be there for you.
However, it seemed the world had it out for him.
Every traffic light was red, there was CCG patrolling every street, and it seemed everything was hellbent on him not making it to the hospital in time. Hell, he had even run across the rooftops like some teenager ghoul having fun, but he wasn't having fun; he was worried.
But it wasn't enough.
By the time he blurted out your name to the receptionist, it seemed news had already passed through the hospital. He could see even behind his sunglasses that the light in the nurse's eyes dimmed and her demeanor changed.
No…
"I can take you to see him if you like. They were waiting for you to arrive before…" She trailed off, and he felt a flash of irritation.
"Before what?" He barely held in a snap. But the nurse still hunched her shoulders and looked away.
"Before they move the body. Sorry, it doesn't get any easier to have these conversations." She mumbled, and a doctor stepped in then, as they neared the room at the end of the emergency department.
"My name is Dr. Tanaka. I was the emergency medical specialist working on your fiancé." He said, and Uta nodded, pushing his sunglasses up his nose, and followed silently behind the doctor.
The scent of blood had his mouth watering, but he paid no mind to his stomach.
You were covered in a white sheet. He could tell it was you by your scent, even through the stink of medical antiseptic and cleaner. He barely registered Dr. Tanaka shutting the curtains behind the duo to give them privacy and instead walked to where your head would be.
Dr. Tanaka made a noise, and Uta stopped.
"What?" He snapped now, heart racing as he paused in revealing your face. Some twisted part of him hoped it was someone else. Someone else could deal with the pain and grief of losing their loved one.
"I just want to warn you that his injuries were severe. Just… Prepare yourself." Dr. Tanaka said, and Uta stopped before steeling his nerves and pulling the sheet back.
Your throat had been ripped out. That much was obvious. But surprisingly, there were not many other injuries. Your throat was stitched shut. Well… What could be stitched up anyway. Chunks of flesh were missing. But there was no blood.
The smell of cleaner was overwhelming, and he felt his eyes well with tears from the acrid scent.
"I'm terribly sorry for your loss." Dr. Tanaka said softly, "I'll give you some time before we decide anything. His chart marked you as his emergency contact and next of kin, so we'll need you to fill out some paperwork." He said, and Uta nodded numbly, sinking into the chair by the gurney that held your prone body.
Uta barely heard the doctor leave.
You were buried within the week.
There weren't many people who attended the funeral. Just a few from Anteiku and some of your friends around Tokyo. Not that you had many. Ghouls tended to be solitary creatures; it was a wonder the two of you had even gotten together.
Life moved on.
It was the little things over the days that reminded him of you.
The way he kept some of the flowers from your funeral dried and pressed in between some of your favorite books to be framed. But he never got around to it.
The way your slippers were haphazardly tossed on the shoe rack in your shared apartment, as if waiting for you to come straighten them.
The way he couldn't bear to wash your dirty coffee mug in the sink because that meant washing you down the drain.
The way he could still smell your cologne wafting from the pillow next to him in bed. He found where you kept it and spritzed some on the pillowcase to keep the smell alive. Because while he knew you weren't alive anymore, his heart still couldn't handle that fact.
But things changed a month after your funeral.
He woke up to the sound of glass breaking.
Almost immediately, his kagune started to pop and bubble underneath his skin, ready to slither out at a moment's notice and kill whoever dared intrude on his home. His sanctuary. The only place he still felt you lingered.
Uta rolled out of bed and onto his feet as silently as a cat with no collar. He hid behind the door as the sound of someone walking over the glass registered in his ears.
A light flickered on above the kitchen sink, and he peeked through the crack in the doorframe.
Only to yank it open two seconds later and come face to face with you.
You were still dressed in the suit you were buried in. Dirt was encrusted around your fingernails, and the nails themselves were cracked and broken. In fact, dirt was everywhere. On your suit, in your hair, it invaded every crevice of your being, but you looked at him with a bewildered expression.
"Uta?" Your voice cracked and rusted as if you hadn't used it in years. Which was impossible. But so was the fact that you were standing before him. He didn't say anything. And when you got closer, whispering, "Uta? Talk to me." He backed away.
"You're supposed to be dead. I buried you." He said and took another step back.
And another.
And another until his back hit the bedroom door.
What was happening?
Was this some sick joke?
"I—I don't know what happened. One second I was walking home and then… I think I died?" Your voice was gaining clarity as you spoke more and recounted the events of the day you died.
All the while, Uta listened. Because what else could he do? Scream? Cry? He never cried anymore. He hadn't even cried at your funeral, for he was too numb to do anything but listen to those recounting your life.
"The coroner said you were in the wrong place at the wrong time." He croaked out when you were done speaking. You reached forward with a shaking hand, and he finally allowed himself to take it. To feel your skin once more.
However, something was wrong.
You were icy cold. As if you had no blood in your body. He frowned and looked from your hand to your face. It was clear you were still in shock, and still covered in dirt.
But that didn't matter.
Because you were home. He didn't know how, or why, or how you were even alive, but he pushed that to the back of his mind and pulled you into a tight hug.

Melody in the Darkness (Uta x human! Reader) ((Oneshot))
The air was thick with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and the sounds of lively chatter filled the cozy café. I sat at a corner table, glancing out the window, watching the rain fall softly against the glass. It was one of those days where I needed to escape reality for a while, to lose myself in the warm ambiance of the café.
The bell above the door chimed, pulling my attention away from the outside world. I looked up to see him walk in, his striking features instantly capturing my gaze. Uta, with his mismatched eyes and that signature smirk, was a presence that commanded attention. He was known for his eccentric fashion and laid-back demeanor, but there was always something deeper beneath the surface.
“Mind if I join you?” he asked, his voice smooth like honey, as he slid into the seat across from me.
“Of course not,” I replied, feeling my heart race at his proximity. “I wasn’t sure if you’d be around today.”
Uta chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “You know me. I can’t resist a good cup of coffee, especially on a day like this.”
I watched as he waved over the barista, ordering his usual. There was something mesmerizing about him, the way he carried himself with such confidence. He was an enigma, a part of a world I barely understood, yet I felt drawn to him in a way I couldn’t explain.
“Are you working on anything interesting?” he asked, leaning back in his chair, an amused expression on his face.
“Just some sketches,” I replied, pulling my sketchbook out of my bag. “I was inspired by the rain.”
“Let me see,” he urged, his curiosity piqued. I hesitated for a moment but then flipped it open to a page featuring a half-finished drawing of him, capturing the unique blend of his features and that haunting smile.
His expression shifted, a mixture of surprise and intrigue. “Wow, this is incredible! You really captured my essence,” he said, leaning closer to examine the details. The proximity made my cheeks flush, and I suddenly became acutely aware of the warmth radiating from him.
“I tried to,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. “You have this way of standing out, even in a crowd.”
Uta’s lips curled into a playful grin. “Guess I’m just unforgettable, huh?” He winked, and I couldn’t help but smile back.
We spent the next hour talking and laughing, the conversation flowing effortlessly. Uta had a way of making everything feel lighter, even when the topics grew more serious. He shared stories from his past, his adventures, and I found myself hanging on every word.
As the café began to fill with more patrons, I felt a sense of comfort in our bubble. The world outside faded into the background, and all that mattered was this moment with him.
“Can I ask you something?” Uta said suddenly, his expression turning serious. “Why do you draw?”
I took a moment to gather my thoughts. “It’s my way of expressing what I can’t say with words. Sometimes, I feel like there are things inside me that need to come out, and drawing helps me release them.”
He nodded, a thoughtful look crossing his face. “I get that. Art has a way of revealing our true selves, doesn’t it? Even the parts we try to hide.”
I looked into his eyes, searching for the truth behind his words. “What about you? What do you hide behind that smile?”
Uta's gaze softened, and for a brief moment, I saw a glimpse of vulnerability. “Just a lot of shadows. But I guess we all have them.”
Before I could respond, he reached across the table, his fingers brushing against mine. The touch sent a spark through me, and I felt my breath hitch. “But sometimes,” he continued, “finding someone who can see past those shadows makes all the difference.”
I swallowed hard, the atmosphere between us shifting. “Uta…”
He leaned closer, and I could feel the heat radiating from him. “Can I show you something?” he asked, his voice low and inviting.
I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation. He stood up, offering me his hand. As I took it, I felt a surge of warmth spread through me. Uta led me outside, where the rain had eased to a gentle drizzle, leaving the world glistening under the soft glow of streetlights.
He pulled me close, and I could see the intensity in his eyes. “I’ve been wanting to do this for a while,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
Before I could fully process what was happening, he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. The kiss was soft and electric, igniting a warmth deep within me. It felt like a melody, intertwining our worlds for that fleeting moment.
As he pulled away, a shy smile danced on his lips. “So, what do you think?”
I could barely find my voice, still reeling from the kiss. “I think I’d like to explore more of your world,” I replied, a smile breaking across my face.
Uta grinned, his mismatched eyes sparkling with mischief. “Good, because this is just the beginning.”
And as we stood there in the soft rain, hand in hand, I knew that I was ready to dive into the unknown, to embrace whatever adventure awaited us both.

The soft glow of the moon filtered through the blinds, painting silver stripes across the cozy living room. You sat cross-legged on the couch, a chilled cup of tea cradled in your hands, the warm scent of chamomile lingering faintly. Across from you, Uta sat in a low chair, his posture deceptively casual. His long fingers tapped an uneven rhythm against his knee, but his mismatched eyes avoided yours, a rare and telling thing.
“Uta?” you asked softly, tilting your head to catch his gaze. “Is something wrong?”
The tapping stopped, his hand pausing mid-air as he finally looked at you. His expression was hard to read, the usual playful mystery in his eyes replaced by something more serious, almost pained.
“I’ve been keeping something from you,” he said at last, his voice low and steady, as though he were forcing each word out.
Your heart squeezed at the vulnerability in his tone. “Keeping something from me?” you repeated, your chest tightening. “What do you mean?”
“I…” He hesitated, tilting his head to the side in that familiar way of his, as though weighing his next words. “I haven’t been completely honest about myself. I’ve always wondered how you’d react if you knew the truth. And now that we’re married, I think it’s time I showed you. You deserve to see… all of me.”
His words were cryptic, his tone heavy, and yet you didn’t feel fear. Instead, curiosity and concern bloomed in equal measure. You leaned forward, placing your hand over his. “Whatever it is, Uta, it won’t change how I feel about you.”
He stilled under your touch, the tension in his shoulders easing ever so slightly. His lips curved into a faint smile, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “I hope you mean that,” he murmured.
Slowly, he rose from the chair, his movement unhurried but purposeful. The air in the room seemed to shift with him, thickening with an almost electric charge. His silhouette sharpened in the dim light as he took a step back.
“Don’t be afraid,” he said, his voice softer now, tinged with something almost… fragile.
Before your eyes, his form began to change. His eyes glowed a vivid crimson, the usual quiet mischief replaced by a predatory gleam. Veins darkened and spread beneath his alabaster skin, and his features sharpened into something otherworldly, beautiful in its raw intensity. Black and grotesque, his kakuja unfurled, armor-like and jagged, exuding a terrifying aura of power. Six additional arms extended out like a nightmarish deity, their clawed tips glinting in the moonlight.
The tea cup slipped from your hands, hitting the floor with a dull thud, but you didn’t care. Your breath caught in your throat as you stared, torn between awe and disbelief.
“Uta…” His name fell from your lips in a whisper, your voice trembling as your gaze swept over him.
He stepped closer, his movements fluid and deliberate, his towering form casting shadows across the room. “This is my true form,” he said, his voice rougher, darker, almost unrecognizable. “As a ghoul.”
The weight of his words settled in your chest, but fear wasn’t what you felt. He was a predator, yes, and undeniably dangerous, but he was still Uta- your Uta. And in this moment, standing before you in all his monstrous glory, he was breathtaking.
“You thought I wouldn’t like this?” you asked, your voice soft but steady.
His crimson eyes narrowed slightly, as though searching for any sign of deceit. “Most humans wouldn’t,” he said bluntly.
“Well, I’m not most humans,” you replied, a small smile tugging at your lips.
For a moment, he simply stared at you, his expression unreadable. Then, slowly, a feral grin spread across his face, sharp and predatory. Relief flickered in his eyes, and with it, a glimmer of something darker.
“No, you’re not,” he said, his voice low and reverent.
One of his clawed hands reached out to cup your cheek, the cool, sharp edges grazing your skin without breaking it. The touch sent a shiver down your spine, not from fear, but from the heat pooling low in your belly.
“I don’t deserve you,” he murmured, his tone deep and heavy with emotion. “But now that I have you, I’m never letting you go.”
The raw intensity of his words made your breath hitch. His gaze burned into yours, unrelenting, and when his claws traced down your neck, it left a trail of fire in their wake.
“You’re trembling,” he said, a teasing edge to his voice as his thumb brushed over your jawline. “Are you afraid of me?”
You shook your head, swallowing hard. “No,” you whispered.
“Good,” he purred, his lips curving into a dangerous smirk. “Because I don’t think I could stop myself now, even if you were.”
In a blur of motion, he scooped you into his arms, lifting you as though you weighed nothing. The sheer strength in his hold sent a thrill through you, and you clung to him as he carried you to the bedroom.
He laid you on the bed with surprising force, the intensity in his crimson gaze never wavered. The size difference between you was obvious, extremely pronounced now, and it made you shiver under the weight of his predatory stare.
“You’re so small,” he murmured, his claws trailing down your sides, leaving goosebumps in their wake. “So delicate.”
Your cheeks flushed as you squirmed beneath him. “Uta…”
He chuckled darkly, the sound rumbling deep in his chest. “Don’t be shy. I want to see all of you.”
With practiced ease, he ripped away your clothes, leaving you bare writhing beneath him. His gaze roamed over your exposed skin, dark with hunger and appreciation.
“You’re perfect,” he said, his voice low and filled with raw desire. “And you’re mine.”
His lips descended on yours, and the kiss was unlike any you’d shared before. It was possessive, almost overwhelming, his sharp teeth grazing your lower lip. His hands roamed your body, exploring every curve and dip, sending sparks of pleasure racing through you.
When his fingers found your core, you gasped, your hips bucking instinctively. He chuckled against your neck, his breath hot against your skin.
“So sensitive,” he murmured, his fingers teasing you with slow, deliberate strokes. “I wonder how much you can take.”
You whimpered, the tension in your body building with every touch. “Uta, please…”
“Please what, little one?” he asked, his tone darkly amused as he pinned your squirming form beneath him. “Use your words.”
“Please… I need you,” you whispered, your voice trembling with desperation.
His smirk widened, and he positioned himself between your legs. The sight of him, fully aroused and impossibly large and a deep dark red, it made your breath catch.
“You’re so small,” he said again, his tone laced with dark amusement. “I’ll have to be careful not to break you.”
The stretch as he entered you was indescribable, a mix of sore overwhelming fullness and blissful pressure. He moved slowly at first, letting you adjust to his size, his sharp claws gripping your hips to keep you in place, his arms caging you- devouring you.
“You feel so good,” he growled, his voice rough with desire. “So tight. So perfect.”
As your cries of pleasure grew louder, he began to move faster, his thrusts deep and relentless. His strength was staggering, and he used it to manhandle your smaller frame effortlessly, lifting you, shifting you, pinning you as he pleased.
When you came, it was like nothing you’d ever experienced. Your body tensed, and a gush of wetness coated him, soaking the sheets beneath you.
He stilled, his eyes widening in surprise before a wicked grin spread across his face. “You squirted,” he said, his voice thick with satisfaction. “How delicious.”
Before you could recover, he started moving again, his pace incessant and rough, he lifted you- holding you on top of him as he thrust inside of your throbbing cunt. chasing his own release. When he finally came inside you, it was with a deep, guttural growl, his claws digging into your hips. Leaving small red lines claiming your body as his.
As you lay trembling in his arms afterward, his features softened, the traces of his ghoul form fading slightly. He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, his mismatched eyes filled with a quiet adoration.
“You’re incredible,” he murmured. “I didn’t think it was possible to love you more, but you keep proving me wrong.”
You smiled, exhaustion tugging at your eyelids. “I love you, Uta. All of you.”
And as you drifted off in his arms, you knew there was nothing you wouldn’t face to stay by his side.
A/N: Happy birthday! Uta (even in his full form) will treat you right! lol
