You stared at the pile of stuffed animals on your bed, debating if you should hide them or not before your boyfriend comes over to your apartment for the first time. You weren't sure how’d he react to them.

“My muse what are you doing?” well your decision was made for you as you hear a very familiar  chuckle coming from your bedroom door. You turn around trying to use your body to hide your stuffed animals. Uta looks at you confused making his way over to you leaving a kiss on your forehead before sitting on your bed pulling you onto his lap.

“You collect stuff animals? How adorable, a fitting collection for you.” You blush as you let out a sigh of relief as you hop off his lap and make your way to your wardrobe. You grab a small gift bag nervously handing it to your tattooed boyfriend, he gently takes the bag with a soft smile on his face. 

“I saw it at the store and it reminded me of you.” You state with a big smile on your face, Uta pulls a black and white skeleton cat out of the bag you watch his reaction seeing if he likes it or not. To your surprise, he pulls you into a hug.

He doesn't break his focus from the mask he's working on as the sweet words leave his mouth in a gentle loving tone

"my muse you're always on my mind" his eyes staying on his new work of art in front of him

"oh? I am? what about me stays on your mind" he softly hums thinking how to answer, what about you wouldn't be on his mind? everything about you almost makes you a walking piece of at, his muse being so perfect in a raw natural way's. Hmm but oddly enough if would be the sweet determined nature of yours, in world and ward so curel   you found light in most things. It all made Uta feel safe about having a human lover.. He places his tool down walking over to you, opieste side of the counter, You reach for his hand holding, 

Your boyfriend Uta had always been a classic romantic. You didn't know if it was because he’s an artist or cause he's a ghoul, all you know is you loved it. So — one night after he was taking a break from the lastest mask — Uta walks over to where you were sitting, he picks up your hand placing a kiss on it but he forgot he was holding one of his tools till the smell of human blood is fresh in the shop. You look at him worried and he gives you an apologetic smile while placeing the tool down.

“My muse, I'm sorry. Here let me help you.” He grabs a napkin before wiping the blood. He gives the injured spot a kiss, he thought he'd be able to control himself but it was getting hard, he wipes the area. You look at your now visibly nervous boyfriend, you ask him what's wrong but he shrugs it off walking back to his workroom...that's odd you thought. Did he really stop work just to kiss you? Sweet but not like him once he's in the creative mood. Oh fuck was it your blood? You couldn't walk out you’d be In serious danger, but staying here could trigger Uta more. Your boyfriend knew you weren't a stupid person so when he peeked out cause he wanted to see if he was okay enough to grab the tool he so carelessly left behind. He notices your visibly worried face... Sigh this was bound to happen one day but he had enough control now. He can tell the cut stopped bleeding so he slowly walks back to you grabbing your other hand giving it a soft kiss.

“It's okay, don't be afraid. I'd never hurt you, my love~” 

Hanging around a ghoul wasn't always ideal if someone found out you knew about Uta, you'd be good as dead. Even worse is falling for a ghoul. But it was impossible not to. Uta, in your eyes, was perfection. The way the black ink of his tattoos danced along the different parts of his body, the glint of shine that hits off his sliver piercing every now and then, every little detail of his appearance you've learned, studied and commited to memory. Little did you know Uta was doing the same for you. He knew when you would show up, what hairstyles you wear when you didn't feel like washing your hair, what moods you were in most, what flavors of drink you preferred even though you always bought ones you least liked more, or how whenever someone walked into his shop you’d jump a little. Even though he’d always tell you when he knew one of his ghoul clients would be coming in. Was this how he planned for things to go? God no, you'd sparked his interest when you struck up a conversation with him when he was looking for new mask supplies he thought after that he wouldn't see you again until at some point in the conversation you had asked what all the supplies were for. He answered by handing you a little card with his shops address on it telling you to stop by sometime, and you did, once, twice... ten times. Eventually bringing you to where you are now in your “friendship”. This consisted of routine visits at the shop, which he always looks forward to. That is until one day he seems a little off, you ask him what's up noticing his behavior. He sighs a bit complicating whether to tell you or not, he meekly answers he has to be outta the shop for a few days and for you not to worry he’ll let you know when he's back. Telling you not to worry only made you worry more. What could he be up to? You wanted to question it but as you were about to open your mouth to speak when suddenly the door opens. A man that cant be more than an inch or two taller than Uta with silverish grey hair walks in. You’ve seen him in the shop a few times, according to Uta the man is his old friend he used to live with Uta in the 4th ward.

“Time to go, Uta,” the man says he looks to be holding a mask, almost ignoring your presence. You wonder if Ura made the mask. You were about to ask but held your tongue. You could tell now wasn't a good time.

Uta nods at the man's statement walking out from around the counter grabbing his own mask. You could tell that whatever was about to happen wasn't gonna be good, causing a worry feeling to form in your stomach... What if Uta didn't return home?

“I’ll be there in a minute. Start walking without me Yomo.” Yomo shoots Uta a confused look but none the less he walks out anyways. Uta looks back at you.

“Get home safe, and don't worry about me. I can tell you are, I'll stop by your place when I get home okay?” You weakly smile at him nodding as you both walk out of the shop. Right before he walks off he hands you a note. “Open it when you miss me too much.” with that Uta off after Yomo.

That interaction happened days ago and still no Uta, you stop by the shop every day just in case he forgot to visit you. There was still no sign of him, you knew stopping by every day wasn't safe. Uta had told you many times before to never show up if no one was there, you got really lucky. So here you are doing your normal routine of stopping by just as you were turning to walk back home you heard someone else coming. You started to panic there was nowhere to hide. In your already overwhelmed upset state you just fall to your knees and start sobbing. Uta’s note falling out of your hands the words reading “I love you, when I get home if you feel the same let's try to make it work.” You wouldn't be able to say bye to Uta. You wouldn't be able to confess in return. All these thoughts making you panic more until you feel yourself being wrapped up into a hug.

“Shh, why are you here? don't cry it's okay” the voice of the male you’ve been waiting for. He was okay! You hug him back as all of your fear and worries slowly wash away from your body. Uta picks you up carrying you inside the store, you’ve calmed down enough to face the male looking at him you softly reply.

“I thought something had happened to you after I didn't hear from you. Then I heard-” your rambling was cut off with a kiss. Uta gently cups your cheek.

“And my note? I meant what I said, I love you." He shoots you a sweet smile though you can see his eyes show a bit of worry, wondering if you feel the same.

“I love you too.” you lean in kissing him again.
