now that she’s been revealed, i can finally post this....
CUTIE!!!!
one night @small-angry-ferret and i were up reeeeeally late complaining about how bratty/catty is such an underappreciated ship and we decided to make a fanchild
she’s the most lisa frank fucking thing to ever exist: a goddamn cat-alligator that wears flowery dresses, a million hairclips, and weighed down by more bracelets and crazy cute necklaces than you can shake a stick at
she will also throw the fuck down cus her moms are badasses you can’t tell me they’re not
we took forever working out just how her body would work and then i decided to dress her up: this is that preliminary sketch
ENJOY
Arial: Hi!
Cutie: Um…hi.
Arial: I like your tail!
Cutie: My…tail?
Arial: Yeah, it’s all spiky and cool!
Cutie: Uh…thanks.
Arial: Oh, you draw? My dad draws too! What are you drawing?
Cutie: Dresses.
Arial: Can I watch you draw?
Cutie: Would you really like that?
Arial: Sure! I like it when my dad paints, or makes his sculptures. I bet you and him would get along great!
Cutie: Um…sure, if you want. [she goes back to drawing]
[a few seconds pass]
Arial: You’re really good!
Cutie: Thanks.
Arial: Is that all you draw? Just dresses?
Cutie: Sometimes I draw, like, skirts and shoes and stuff too.
Arial: You like pretty clothes, huh?
Cutie: Mm-hm.
Arial: What grade are you in? I never see you in line with anyone I know.
Cutie: Fourth.
Arial: Oh! You’re a year younger than me then! Wait, then that makes me…
Arial: ...your senpai!
Cutie: My what?
Arial: Your senpai! I’m your super cool older mentor that teaches you everything I know! And you’re my kouhai!
Cutie: What?
Arial: I can’t believe this! I get to be a senpai! Just like Tamaki or one of those other really cool guys!
Cutie: Tamaki?
Arial: I have to take my position seriously! This is such an honor! I’ll show you all the most important things I know! [gasp] And I know exactly where to start!
Cutie: What?
Arial: CLIMBING TREES!
Cutie: Is that really, like, the most important thing you know?
Arial: It’s the most important thing ever! Now, um…what’s your name?
Cutie: Cutie.
Arial: Cutie! Watch me!
Cutie: [stands up] Hey! Can’t you get in trouble for that?
Arial: Nah, it’ll be fine! Follow me!
Cutie: But, like…I don’t wanna get my skirt messed up…
Arial: Oh. Wait! I know!
Cutie: ?
Arial: There! Now you won’t have to get your skirt messed up!
Cutie: Oh, but your scarf…won’t it like, get all dirty now?
Arial: It’s okay. My dad can make me another one if it gets torn or something. I do this all the time, my clothes always get dirty!
Arial: Here, I’ll help you up!
[Cutie hesitates for a second.]
Cutie: You’re…kinda weird.
Arial: Yeah, people tell me that a lot.
Cutie: And aren’t you the one that, like…got suspended for using magic on a human?
Arial: I didn’t! Well, I got suspended, but I didn’t use magic on him! I don’t even know what my magic is yet!
Cutie: Everyone in my class says you’re scary.
Arial: Do you think I’m scary too?
Cutie: [giggles]
Cutie: Not even a little bit!

((And a quick preview of the next ask to show you all that I’m still working!))
((I know I’m pretty late on this, but I liked the way this header came out, so I figured if anyone wants to see it on its own, here it is! Well, the important part, anyway.
Sorry again for the slow updates--we just got a new kitten and I just started back to school so it’s been hectic.))

What do humans or other monster think of Arial?
Mr. Coro: I hopeI don’t have to talk to you about this again, Miss Asgoreman. Now what are wegoing to do from now on?
Arial: Sit quietly when you’re talking, and raise my hand if I havean answer.
Mr Coro: That’s right. Remember, we don’t want to have to callyour parents again, do we?
Arial: No, sir.
Mr. Coro: Right. You can go to recess now, MissAsgoreman. Have fun.
Arial: OK!
[Arial bolts outside to the playground]
Arial: Oh hey Britney! Are you guys playing basketball?
Britney: Oh, uh, hi Arial. Yeah, we were gonna play.
Arial: Cool! Can I play? I can jump really high!
Britney: Oh, um…sorry, but both our teams are full.
Arial: But…there’s three over here and only two over here.
Britney: The other one, uh, went to the bathroom.
Arial: Oh. I guess that makes sense! Maybe next time then!
Girl: Why does she keep coming back? We never say yes.
Girl: She’s so freaky looking! Those bones scare me.
Girl: I heard she has them cuz she killed somebody!
Girl: Ssssh, she’ll hear you!
Arial: Hey Izzy! Hey Leo! Whatcha guys doin’?
Leo: Oh. Hey Arial. Uh, nothing, really.
Arial: Oh. Well, do you wanna have a tree-climbing contest?
Izzy: Why? You always win.
Arial: I’ll go easy on you!
Leo: No thanks, Arial. I think we’ll pass.
Arial: Maybe something else then? We could play hide and seek! Inever win that!
Leo: Mm, I don’t think so. Sorry, Arial.
Izzy: We don’t wanna play with you today, Arial.
Arial: Oh. Okay. Maybe tomorrow then!
Leo: Erm, maybe. We’ll see.
Leo: You didn’t have to be so mean.
Izzy: What? I wasn’t being mean. She won’t leave you alone otherwise.Besides, she’s weird. She always gets people in trouble for talking, and she just shouts all the time.
Arial: Well...there must be somebody I haven’t tried talking to yet!
Arial: !
Aw man I miss Arial! What's gonna happen next I wonder?
((Fear not, anon! I’ve been keeping my nose to the grindstone in an effort to get this next ask out faster!
Here’s a little hint for you...))
Did you visit the Leezard? What did she do?
Arial: Hey Mom! Hey Dad!
Alphys: All done!
Undyne: Great! Thanks so much, Alphys.
Alphys: N-no problem! Glad to help.
Papyrus: HOW DO YOU FEEL, ARIAL?
Arial: It was boring, but I’m fine. Can we go? I wanna dosomething!
Undyne: Uh, I think we’ve gotta stay and talk to Alphysabout the results for a bit, kiddo. But hey, if you’re feeling antsy there wasthat really big tree outside. I bet you can’t get all the way to the top beforewe come out there!
Arial: BETCHA I CAN! [runs outside]
Undyne: How’dit go? She didn’t fuss too much, did she?
Alphys: Oh, n-no, sh-she was just fine! It was a, a littledifficult getting her to stay still, but she didn’t give me any real trouble.
Undyne: That’s about what I was expecting.
Papyrus: THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH HER, IS THERE?
Alphys: N-no, not at all! H-her soul is actually a v-veryinteresting one, b-but it’s perfectly healthy! And-and she looks just finephysically, too. Th-though I’ll admit the soul is d-definitely more my area ofexpertise…But. That’s good! Because. That’s where magic comes from.
Papyrus: I KNEWTHAT IF ANYONE COULD HELP US, YOU COULD! SO SHE’S PERFECT, JUST LIKE I THOUGHT!
Undyne: Well,I’m glad she’s healthy, but that still doesn’t explain why she hasn’t been ableto make bullets yet. I don’t suppose you’ve seen anything like this before,Alphys?
Alphys: I-I’mafraid not. B-believe me, if I had you’d be the f-first to know. B-but, well,m-maybe she’s just a late bloomer! Even if monster k-kids with her lifespan t-tendto discover their magic between five-five to seven years on average, th-that doesn’tmean it’s not p-possible for it to happen later.
Undyne: I guess...
Alphys: L-look, I know you guys are r-really concerned about this, so…haveyou considered m-maybe it’s not something physical?
Papyrus: WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
Alphys:W-well…m-monsters are very sensitive to negativity. M-maybe she’s having a hardtime with magic because of something...emotional or psychological? M-maybe she’sscared, or depressed. I’ve...c-certainly had trouble with my own magic being weakerwhen I’m...g-going through a bit of a rough patch.
Undyne: A monster’s strength depends on their will to fight…Iguess that does make a lot of sense, now that I think about it. I’ve neverheard of it messing up your magic, though.
Papyrus: WELL, I CERTAINLY DON’T THINK SHE’S DEPRESSED.
Alphys: M-maybe she’s scared, then? Or insecure?
Papyrus: SHE DID SEEM SCARED WHEN I TRIED TO TEACH HER GASTERBLASTERS…BUT THEN, MY SPECIAL ATTACK TENDS TO HAVE THAT EFFECT ON PEOPLE.GREATNESS COMES WITH A PRICE.
Undyne: Maybe we just need to show her how cool magic is soshe’ll stop being scared!
Papyrus: I DON’T THINK WE CAN GET MUCH COOLER THAN MY SPECIALATTACK. BESIDES, THAT JUST SCARED HER MORE. AT LEAST, I THINK IT DID. SHE THOUGHT ITWAS GREAT WHEN I DID IT, SHE JUST GOT NERVOUS WHEN SHE WENT TO DO IT.
Undyne: Good point. Seems like we’re just about back to squareone. Thanks again, Alphys. I really appreciate you doing this, Iknow you’re super busy nowadays.
Alphys: No problem! I’m glad I could help. Let me know if you figureanything out.
Undyne: Yeah, I’ll keep you updated if we think of somewhere else to go from here.
Papyrus: GOODBYE ALPHYS! OUR SINCEREST THANKS!
Alphys: See ya!
[Undyne and Papyrus leave to extract Arial from the tree.]
Alphys: Hmm...I’m s-sure it’s nothing but...what an unusual soul...
