Hiya ! Can we get Grillby, Sans, UF Grillby and Red’s reactions to a future SO walking into Grillby’s bar, straight to the counter, and asking quietly :“Excuse me, can you point me to the nearest hospital ? I think I’m gonna have a panic attack and I need to go ASAP”
He’s taken aback for a moment. Once your words settle in, he nods and fetches you a phone. He walks around the counter, to your your side.
“Would you like to be somewhere more quiet?” He asks. You eye him suspiciously, but you find no sly intentions in his gentle voice. You nod and follow him behind the counter, where he leads you to his storage room. You make your phone call, trying to keep your breathing steady and trying to focus on your words. The doctor on the other side of the phone is guiding you through your panic attack. You start crying at one point, but you don’t remember when. In the middle of your phone call, you hear the door open. Your heart jumps and you jump back. Grillby is there, holding a tray with a glass of water on it. He’s holding the tray as far away from himself as he possibly can, his hands are shaking slightly.
“Is... That for me?” You ask. He nods. You smile a little and take the glass of water. Tension falls from his shoulders and he holds the tray to his chest.
“I’m still on the call...” Grillby nods and leaves the room so you can return to your call. You didn’t need to go to a hospital, but at least you made an appointment to see a doctor. By the time you step out of the room, the bar is empty. The only one there is Grillby, who’s standing by the counter drying a glass with a cloth. You’re a little wary of him so you keep your distance. When the door closes behind you, he notices your presence and smiles gently.
“Better?” He asks. You nod. He takes note of how tense you are. “Shall I call a cab for you?” He offers. Why is he being so nice to you? He has no reason to be. Then again, he has no reason to be mean either...
“Can I just... Stay here for a while? It’s nice and quiet...” You ask. He smiles and steps aside, allowing you to pass by. For a while, you feel safe there. The sounds of the passing city and the gentle crackle of flames seem to soothe you..
At first, he had no idea why you’d ask him of all people. Does he look like he goes to a “normal” doctor? He doesn’t want to leave you hanging, but he’s not sure how to help either.
“Uuh... Is there someone you can call?” He asks you. You’re not sure how to answer. The noise here isn’t helping. Conversations overlap, the television has a crowd roaring, some people feel too close to you, you feel like your lungs are squeezing all the air out of you... Sans sees the growing panic in your eyes and tries to think on the spot. “Hey, follow me. I know a shortcut.” He says. God, he hopes this works... You aren’t sure where he’s taking you, but you’d rather be anywhere else but here. One moment, you’re trailing behind Sans, struggling to catch up when a group of people enter the bar. The next moment, as soon as you stepped outside, you’re in front of a tall, white building with many windows. You blink and search for any signs. Yup, this is the hospital alright, but how...?“No need to thank me.” Sans says, snapping you from your thoughts. “Just go and take care of yourself, alright?” You’re not sure how he did that, but you’ll have to thank him when you get out. You’ll have to remember the name of that bar...
UnderfellArsonist (UF!Grillby):
Panic attack? What are you panicking about? Did someone make you uncomfortable? Did someone scare you? WHO DOES HE HAVE TO BURN?! He tries to keep a calm and cool outside, but judging how his flames grow, you can see through his facade. You apologize and back away.
“No, wait! Hold on!” He pleas. “Just- I mean,” He sighs and slicks the flames on his head back. “I think I know what’ll help. C’mere.” He hops over his counter and leads you outside. “In the back.” He walks towards an alleyway, which sets off a lot of red flags in your mind. Asking him for help was a bad idea, but your judgement is clouded at the moment. A part of you still trusts him, despite the warning signs. You follow him down, where all noise seems to drift away. There, you see a little picnic table with an ashtray and a couple of empty bottles on it. Arsonist leans against his building, keeping his distance from here. “You can chill here, make a call or something. I’m, uh.... I’m sorry ‘bout earlier. Just thought something happened to you or somethin’ and got all riled up. My bad.” He confesses, rubbing the back of his neck. “I dunno where a hospital is, but you can use my cell if you need to call someone, okay?” You nod and thank him. His flames glow a bit brighter and he adjusts his sunglasses. “Hey, don’t be thankin’ me just yet. I’m just giving ya some space to think and chill while you call someone. I’m jus’... Tryin’ to be good, okay...?”
Oh fuck. He understands (kind of) what you’re going through. You don’t need a hospital, but you definitely should look out some professional help after this. He takes you outside and walks with you. “Breathe. Jus’ keep walkin’ and focus on yer breathing, alright?” He says. “I’m gonna be here with ya. Yer not alone okay? I’m gonna make sure of that.” You look at him, your thoughts running taking a turn for the worst. “Look, I ain’t saying anything, but I know what yer goin’ through, alright?”He huffs. “Ya don’t need some sorta hospital - yer not goin’ crazy! Jus’... Make sure you talk to someone who’s better at talkin’ about this sorta stuff...” It’s only now you notice a light red tint glowing on his cheekbones. Is he embarrassed? You ask him if he’s alright. “Don’t worry about me! Worry about yourself!” He snaps, the glow turning deeper in color. You smile a little. You didn’t really expect him to have a softer side, considering how scary-looking he appears. Guess you struck a chord with him.
