Would love to know a classic Kane fan's thoughts on Glenn as """Diesel""" and the attempt to turn JR into a heel. I know the gimmick was pretty widely panned and got thrown out relatively quickly but I was wondering if you had any specific attachment to it nonetheless.
Oooo yes ! I have a lot of thoughts about Fake Diesel and Iāve been meaning to make some posts about him but I just havenāt yet !
So in general in a story line way, I think it was a pretty good attempt to make JR into a heel but I think it backfired in a way they didnāt anticipate. I think it made the fans more angry in that the company tried to recreate the classic images that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash had brought to life. I feel like the frustration sort of turned into disrespect because honestly ā¦. Yeah I would be mad as well!
I thought it was interesting how the rest of the story line was brought to the USWA and other areas as a way of being hush hush but still getting air time, because no one wanted to watch fakersā¦ I think they did pretty well to execute it though with the smack talking etc. it could have been way worse !
However , as for my personal views I know itās not GJās fault and he just wanted to keep his wrestling career with the WWF post Isaac Yankem, which I understand.
In terms of looks, I thought he really rocked Diesels look, but it just feels fundamentally wrong to look at him in that outfit š (I feel like his muscles are bigger than Nashās in that fit so oops)
I think I said something earlier about how in the Kane documentary that his wife was ogling over him in that fit during that time so hahaha I get it girl !š¤
