Last year I wanted to turn the tables on my students and have them create an authentic learning tool along with a Public Service Announcement that states an opinion about something. The result was a combination of planning the PSA using storyboarding and recording the PSA using iPadio. I never realized the exact impact of the planning process, but I do think the students embraced the visual compilation portion of each film “shot”.

You see the process of storyboarding allows students to create each frame and plan out the information accordingly. Usually students can use index cards for each part of the story so they can rearrange and/or delete certain scenes. Sometimes providing students with a template will help them organize each piece of the storyboard.
