Sunday Stitches: Snuggly Crochet Pillow

I do love a good pillow – ‘cushion bothering’ (hugging and harassing one to combat anxiety) is something I like to do. I’m still busy with my #UseUpYarnYear and this Vintage Chunky Deramores yarn was under my bed and in need of love. I customised a pattern from a book and started blind with a colour and 66 chains. It’s a nice easy stitch (3DCs and then a TC that reaches down to the row below)…

I’m a passionate lover of Instagram and Pinterest, as anyone who ‘knows’ me on the internet will probably know. Instagram in particular works so well with a ‘mixed up lifestyle’ of family, work and craft and I find I use it as a sort of micro blogging forum; I often end up looking at it to see what I’ve done now and most of the images on the blog come from it.

(Last) Sunday Stitches: The Tosca Ripple Scarf.

The other week I admitted to frogging the lace scarf I had been working on for ages. I’d made it with a hook a little too small and I was not having fun, plus I made some mistakes with the edges and it was gradually decreasing. So out it came!

This week I am happy to report that it is all finished and I’m now very happy with it.

3rd time lucky. Frogged & remade and I love it. #crochet #LangYarn…

Sunday Stitches: WIP Update.

Being determined to start the year by getting on top of some of my works in progress has been good for me. I do get irritated by having half finished projects under the bed but I get distracted so quickly. It’s terrible. First to find itself no longer half done is the Dartmoor pillow, which was begun in a Debbie Abrahams workshop on knitting design in the summer.

A Year of Yarning Frugally. #UseUpYarnYear

Like most avid knitters and crocheters, I have a yarn stash that would see us through WW3… if only it were edible.
