my lover has shadows under her eyes as tender as the purple of bruised figs. the winds whisper she doesnāt belong under the light of the sun, but theyāve never seen how her shadowed face glows when it teases the light. her voice itself could blend into the morning mist. when she runs under the sun, iām just a lost ray of moonlight, running after her to illuminate me. that is, if I lose sight, iāll dull into non-existence

Hello everyone! Hereās the first set of prompts from the wearywnet! Iāve decided to stick to the themeĀ āsurrealā for this week, for a feeling of impending danger and moments strayed from reality. There are seven prompts of varying styles, left as open ended as possible:Ā
āI find you constantly eyeing that portrait. Is there something about it you see that I donāt?ā
A scene or story taking place in a liminal space such as an abandoned warehouse, roof levels of buildings, quite parks in the city etc.
Midnight isnāt the peak of ethereal events anymore. Itās better to be careful at 3 AM.
A world where everything is the same, except, your favourite constellation has disappeared from the sky and you need to find it.
āIf we lose the sense of sight, smell, touch, taste, sound ā how do we know we still exist? That everything else still does? What does the loss make us?ā
There is no end to the ocean, if you swim deep enough, it leads to another universe
A compass that doesnāt point north all the time, magnets and confusion.
Anyone is welcome to use these prompts, and if there are any requests for prompt sets next week, let me know. You can tag your writing withĀ āwearywnetā so we can see.Ā
Enjoy writing!
we then drove right into the rain. in our faded red jeep, we chased the storm across the desert, racing against the clearing heavens, eyes euphoric as we stayed beneath the thin margin of blue sky, grey sky. Away from sunlight, from heat, from endless years without rain. endless summers. weād felt the icy trickle of water down our spines as the air condition hit us at blast, the peace of a raging storm tempting us to sleep. but no, our insomnia heightened as it rained harder, drifting away faster. we chase the storm to the sea, watch it leave us again for years and years, the oceans ripped into turmoil. i had time to spare, too many feelings to kill. you were trying your best to focus on anything but what you had murdered in yourself. to us, the haze of the storm was all that mattered, would ever matter.

Do I regret spending my last summer with fingers tangled in rustic curls, chasing a mouth spoiled with lychee nectar? That time when the air - viscous with warmth - hummed as loud as my pulse? In our mango grove, suffocated by the ripe scent of fruit, I caught the only murky spot of colour against the iridescence. Dark water eyes as deep as they were sightless. Do I regret it? Yes. He didn't see me walk away, the sound of his flute carrying my life until I could hear it no more. He would continue to play under the trees, unaware that Iād never come back from the war.
