Dear friends from the US, could you please, please mention your country when making posts regarding its history, culture, politics, Pride month, holidays, etc? More than half of tumblr users are not from/living in the US, and we make it clear which place we're talking about. You can do the same, it's not hard, I promise.
Props to the person who wrote "US Southerner" instead of just "Southerner" in their post. It communicated their meaning clearly, it allowed me to learn something new about a place I've never been to, and it showed more awareness and consideration than 95% of their fellow citizens.
You all would be surprised by how much less anti-US sentiment you find out when you do such a simple thing.
When it comes to defaultism, the argument that the server of the site is in a particular country is so weird to me because I don't know that unless i look it up, it's not important to the site and it's users at all.
It would make more sense to say that the biggest chunk of users is from a particular country but still... making a post reffering to sth specific to your country on a public site is a certain type of decision that can, depending on context, be quite dumb actually.
Like sometimes we don't know what other countries are like. Normal. But, what bothers me is that if someone from any country other than the usa does this, usaians are going to "correct" it or demean it as if their country is the only one out there and everyone else is making stuff up (instead of like, learning about other places). Meanwhile when an usaian does this, the rest of us just go "ah, they must be from usa" and move on like normal people

European movies/shows
Getting sick of all the usa bullshit that's just a copy of a copy of a copy. Uncreative to the core and always usa. They steal whole movies (e.g. let the right one => let me in) from europe/asia. But the second europe/asia would do the same, they'd be crying round like lil babies.
Positive about European movies/shows is, that got a quality. Like on second you watch a movie, the next you'll see a damn dick on your screen cause we apparently love to show naked people.
One time I even saw some childs ass, like damn, you couldn't have put the damn camera 10cm further up?
But to be serious, watching european movies in original language gives us an understanding for other languages. We'll recognise them much easier and even learn some words. And also all the cultures you'll see. Like solid, I'll only be watching media from not north america from now on.
