Autumn color at Stevens Pass, Washington, 1992.
MC's friend: Don't you get mad with the relationship you're in?
MC: Hm?
MC's friend: Look! They're flirting without you!
MC: ...
MC: So you want me... to get mad... because my husbands are flirting with each other? *confused frown*
MC's friend: Y-Yes.
Asmo and Solomon: *looking at their direction*
Asmo: I feel like someone's badmouthing us.
Solomon: Nah. MC will handle it.
MC: I appreciate the concern, but... I don't really need your opinion when we don't even get in touch often.
MC's friend: I-It's just thatâ!
MC: It's just what?
MC's friend: I-I have a crush on you since middle school!
MC: ...
Solomon and Asmo: ...
Solomon: And now it's our time to meddle.
Asmo: Hm?
MC: *signals them not to do anything*
Asmo: Aww... I hate this no outside violence rule.
There are many song cues apropos to particular road trips. One might wonder about being born in the back of a Greyhound bus when riding on Highway 41 through Georgia. You might feel like stopping for a brew somewhere along US2 twelve hours out of Mackinaw City. Readinâ, rightinâ, and Route 23 might have put you Detroit City bound on that old Hillbilly Highway. You might be thinking about getting back to Ojai while hitching a ride up the PCH. Or about all those things that are easily done out on Highway 61. Not to mention the kicks on Route 66.
Myself, Iâm way past seventeen and itâs been more than a half century since 1965, but I was running up 101 the other day for the first time in my life, so I had to cue up some Jackson Browne.
The @summertime-spookiness challenge has gotten me going through some travel pics from years past. This might not have the most âspookyâ vibe but I think it perfectly encapsulates the aesthetic of a âRoadtripâ, which is the Day 14 prompt.
It was taken in July of 2017 along US Route 2 (aka âThe Highlineâ) somewhere in Northern Montana and I guest the âspookyâ part would be how much the small towns and communities along the highway felt like they were in the process of fading away into a thing of the past...

US 2 Montana (1996)
Asmo and Solomon: *wearing MC's business outfit and wants to punish them for being too busy in work* *both straddling them while they tied their hands on the bedposts*
Asmo: Do you know what this is about, MC?
MC: A reward after my hard work?
Asmo: ...
Solomon: We forgot that they're the sweetest.
Asmo: Well... Let's just consider it as a reward then.
MC: It has came to me that what we did earlier was actually a punishment.
MC: I'm really sorry for neglecting you two.
Solomon: Wh-What could we say? We forgive you.
Asmo: Y-Yeah...
MC: ...
MC: Did I go rough on you? *worried*
Solomon and Asmo: *first time knowing that MC can be wild when they're exhausted*
Asmo: Oh no, darling! This is honestly the best! You should work hard more next time!
Solomon: Asmo, you barely survived.
