Ursinia anthemoides ‘Solar Fire’
This small annual is from the western and south-central part of South Africa, and it is notable for its compact habit, the fine texture of its foliage, and its lavish production of vivid yellow-orange flowers. Other forms of the species may have flowers in lighter shades of yellow. It belongs to the Daisy Family (Asteraceae), as is evident from its flowers.

#1757 - Ursinia anthemoides - Star of the Veldt
Also known as Solar Fire
One of the Chamomile tribe of Asteraceae, first described by Carl Linnaeus in the 1759 10th edition of Systema Naturae, but has been shuffled around since then. The genus is named in honor of German scholar Johannes Heinrich Ursinus 1608–1667.
Another weed from the Asteraceae, and as you might guess from the common name, originally native to southern Africa, along with 40+ other species in the genus. The seeds have both hairs and pappules, making them very easily spread by the wind. Rapidly establishes in native bushland after fire has cleared out the undergrowth.
I love your descent theme! It's beautiful. There's just one little thing I'd like to tweak that I can't figure out - the white background where the posts are displayed seems to be slightly transparent and I'd like for it not to be, since with my dark wallpaper it becomes a gray color that I don't like. Is there a way to change this? Thank you in advance. I really appreciate your work! ・ω・
Sorry for the late reply T.T but under appearance section, there should say “Dark Theme” or “Light Theme”? Just check it off and it’ll look more flattering against your dark background!

Some Blog Notes
I don't want to spam anyone's dash with this, so I'll keep it here under the note. This is just a few notes on my blog, in case anyone should be wondering how I'm going to tag their stuff/ give credit, etc.
1. The userpic/ avatar I'm currently using is from a livejournal user called ursinia, please go check out her stuff, it's amazing.
2. I'm not going to talk in my tags, but I will be coming up with some tags for things I will post quite often. Ie, one for fanart, one for fashion: this way it'll be easy for me to find.
3. I do not want to edit anyone's shit, I may delete some of the comments that were attached to the actual post/ picture/song; just so my blog remains a bit streamlined. If I do this, and you don't like it, let me know and I'll correct it, with my apologies.
4. I plan on doing literature and film reviews with art gallery comments, and occasional fashion talk. If you're interested in any of this, let me know and I'll keep the links on this page. If this pisses you off, then- yet again- let me know, and I'll stop linking them.
Thank you for your time; hope this wasn't too much of a bother! :)
