There's a really good post on here somewhere about how good Sissel's design is in terms of the expectations it primes you to have about him. The full post is very much spoilery for the game so I won't link to it or repeat the specifics but the basic point still stands that the way the game uses his appearance to set and subvert expectations is really really cool
Cool shades, striking color combo, recognizable silhouette, his hair evokes a spirit's shape. I also think his sprites are fun. Off-topic: if anyone wants to play the game for the first time, I highly recommend going in blind.
