#Repost • @kcap.eu From our archive. Many new projects for Rotterdam’s Laurenskwartier contribute to the revival of this once historic center of Rotterdam. A new layer of living and working spaces is added in the reconstruction to breathe new life into the area. Commissioned by @provastnl, KCAP designed the office building at Blaak 31 for businesses including the law firm @loyensloeff. The location on the corner of Blaak and the Binnenrotte is a striking and historically significant position in the city where it once lacked urban intimacy. To address this, the design provides an activated street profile with public functions, anchoring it to the start of the Binnenrotte and the lively Blaak outdoor market. Together with other initiatives in the vicinity, the whole area is transformed into an attractive destination in the centre of Rotterdam, well connected by the adjacent Blaak metro and rail station.
