#upward bound

This might not matter to a lot of people who see it, but there's a federally-funded program in the USA called TRIO; there are around eight different programs under the organisation, and all of them are at risk of being shut down. TRIO programs help high school and college students who are in lower financial brackets find universities and stay in university. The TRIO program I've participated in through high school, Upward Bound, has been a major help to me to meet new people, get more experience in the world, and get more of an idea for what I want to do in the future in regards to University. I know that it's also been a major part of many of my friend's lives and has been a major help for people all over the United States, and a lot of people will miss out on major opportunities if TRIO loses its funding and gets shut down.

i just watched wonder woman for the 2nd time, this time with a group of 30 teenage girls. they were all so hyped afterward, they felt important and empowered. i cannot describe the joy and strength i felt from those girls, who struggle so much with their own self worth, after finally watching a movie that catered to them. i love the movie, but i love what it did for those girls even more.
