I'd like to take a moment to show some good in the world. The dryer saga has come to a conclusion! (For those who haven't followed along, here's the Reader's Digest version. My dryer wasn't working. My landlord had a company come to "fix" it. They "fixed" it and I did 2 loads of laundry and then noticed the thermostat was messed up and EVERY PIECE OF CLOTHING in those loads were burned and/or had holes in them...like not salvageable holes...just holes everywhere. They came back a 2nd time to fix it and ended up not hooking it back up to the exhaust, on top of leaving it in the middle of the room, trash all over the place..and...look, it was a nightmare and I was extremely frustrated). I have often joked that the reason I won't buy a house again is because of how excellent my landlord is. He's truly the best. So, (bless his heart) I'm sure he was SHOCKED when I texted him telling him the ordeal and expressing how insanely frustrated I was with the company. (The repair company, NOT his company). There was no apology, no offer to fix anything, no thought to picking up after themselves and not leaving my house trashed. Just...it was an ordeal. And it destroyed a LOT of clothing--including my very favorite shirt and all my fun MeUndies...which aren't cheap. He said he'd address it with the repair company. Anyway, I get home last night and check the mail. There's a card in there from my landlord & his team along with 2 very generous gift cards to help replace what was destroyed. Talk about above and beyond. It won't replace everything (when I say a lot got ruined, I mean basically my entire wardrobe. I don't have a lot of clothes. Lol) And that's the difference between running a business where only the dollar matters and running a business where the people matter first. He didn't HAVE to do anything. It was the repair place's issue and they should have been the ones to apologize and try to make it right. But, he took the time out of his day to, not only apologize for the debacle, but to try to make my life a little easier and help me replace the damaged items. Truly, above and beyond. #christmasspirit #christmas #hohoho #downtownpensacola #upsideofflorida (at Pensacola Historic Dream Cottages) https://www.instagram.com/p/CI_GX--DAHi/?igshid=1e2z9dms741k2
