Canon portion:
X; Skyfire was built shortly before the launch of The Ark and the Cybertronian war. Therefor he is a young mech, but not as nearly as young as those whom are built after the war. He originally took place with the Decepticons, but it didn't take him long to learn of the Autobots, and decided he preferred their side better.
X; Shockwave is his creator.
X; He worked his way up from the bottom to the Autbot technical adviser. His loyalty to the cause is often questioned by the other soliders of the Autobot faction, and that he's only in it for the money.
Headcanon portion:
X; Blurr picked him up early into his recruitment to the Autobot side, and because of that, he's been adopted as Blurr's student.
X; Though he acts as one of Prime's most loyal soldiers, it's only an act to keep himself from being killed.
X; Most of his insanity is a facade, because he's so close to Blurr, he's able to fake it so well. However, some of his quirks were developed around the environment of the Autobots.
X; When Skyfire's found interest in a mech, he can be touchy. This is due to the reason that he builds weapons, it's the only way he knows of rewarding something without inflicting personal harm on another mech.
X; He enjoys his helm being pet, only by his teacher.
X; There are only a few things that genuinely upset him. His skills as a scientist being questioned is one of them.
X; He has a constant need to build technology from fear of Optimus seeing him as useless and killing him.
X; His biggest fear is Optimus. His second biggest is the smelting pit.
X; There are times when he misses Shockwave, however, he doesn't like admitting it.
X; He also has moments that show he can still be as soft as a Decepticon. However, it's generally directed towards Blurr. It's rare that others see these gestures.
