backstory: I am tall and the sleeves on many of the jackets I have are too short, so I wanted to buy sleeve gloves….then! I miraculously found some similar ones at home but they looked a bit dull for me, so I started with just the crochet additions…. however knowing me, it couldn’t just end there because I have never been a minimalist so I added the bugs :) 🪲
anyway I just thought I’d share this because maybe before you buy something new, look around for things at home and reuse them. or at least try give them new meaning. upcyle things.
Not my normal spread, very pink but I really loved this artists work so thought I would do a spread for it.

This sock lizard is an unfinished object I've had lying around for at least a year. I've now decided he's having crocheted legs. 6 in total. He still won't be finished after that though 😅
Here's how he looks right now, the one leg I've made isn't attached yet. He's made of 3 socks if I remember right, a little scrap fabric for his mouth, and his eyes are needle felted.
I've got this pair of pokemon socks that I've had since 2016 (I know because there's a year in the copyright bit on the bottom 😂) and I once darned a hole in the heel and since then they've turned into this expiriment/challenge of how many times can I repair them/how long can I make them last?
The patches over the toes are actually crochet because the holes were so big I didn't want to darn them. But the pink one got a hole in the crochet recently so I had to repair it again 😅
I do think they'll eventually be more repairs than original material but I'm cool with that 😂
