Hi all, I want to take a moment to share a way in which you can help provide funds to my local community's legal defence fund related to arrests and charges at Palestine solidarity protests and actions.

Since October, Ottawa has been seeing more instances of criminalization of peaceful protests and civil disobedience, including the unjust application of noise bylaws against pro-Palestine protesters. With students from uOttawa now starting to organize their own demonstrations to demand that the university fully discloses all investments made and completely divests from any and all corporations involved in Palestinian genocide, now is the time for the community to solidify the movement.

Ottawa-based Labour 4 Palestine has set up a defence fund that will go towards:

Any future costs from bylaw tickets issued for alleged violations by those using sound amplification devices at Ottawa actions/protests;

Legal defence and bail costs related to arrests and charges that may occur at Palestine solidarity protests and actions; and

Other costs identified by L4P as essential to maintaining a health and growing Palestine solidarity movement in Ottawa

I wish I was better suited for university life.

I fear that because I lack the focus to learn in the way that’s prescribed, I’m missing out on experiences that 20-something’s are “supposed” to have.
