These are my research pages for Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021. In these pages, I investigated Sacai’s and Prada’s collections. Sacai was inspired by inspirational quotes and has themes of diversity. The silhouettes of Sacai Spring/Summer 2021 consists of tanks tops, wrap skirts and long loose shirt dresses. The patterns that were used in this collection are neon light installations, gothic fonts and patchwork. The colour palette of this collection is black and brown. As for Prada, the inspiration behind the collection was 90s fashion and had themes of miuccia. The silhouettes of Prada Spring/Summer 2021 consists of trousers, sleeveless tunic-length tees with triangle logos supersized and implanted below the neckline, hoodies and full skirts. The patterns used in this collection are streamlining and “ugly” prints. The colour palettes of this collection are monochrome and pastel colours. These are my research of New York fashion week Spring/Summer 2021. For these research, I investigated Duncan’s and Rodarte’s collections. So for Duncan, his collection was inspired by corporate fashion along with a gothic theme. The colours used were black, white and green. The garments were made from cotton twill embellished with crystals. I really like the silhouettes which consists of tailored dresses, V-neckline, origami pleats and ruffled collar. I also liked the grammets and beadwork. As for Rodarte, his collection was inspired by 1940s fashion with a bridal theme. The colours used were blue, white, black, red, pink and green. The garments were made from silk, lace and twill. I really like the empire dresses, flower crowns, ruffles, peplum skirts and A-line dresses.
