Felix Francisco Grullon, born on May 2, 1952, was last seen at approximately 5:00 a.m. on April 13, 2004, at his residence near 60th Street and Hudson Avenue in West New York, New Jersey. At the time of his disappearance, he was 51 years old, standing 5'5" tall, and weighing about 150 pounds. He is a Hispanic male with gray hair and brown eyes, and he wore eyeglasses for reading. His nickname is "Nino," and he was born in the Dominican Republic. Grullon was last seen wearing a watch with a silver band and face.
Grullon had recently quit drinking and was experiencing hallucinations as a result. He had been fired from his job at the West New York Department of Public Works a few weeks prior and planned to visit the unemployment office on April 13, after a court appearance related to a child support issue. His telephone had been disconnected due to unpaid bills.
On the morning of his disappearance, Grullon's mother visited his home and found the front door open with all his belongings inside, including keys, clothes, toothbrush, and passport. There was no indication he left the country.
Later in 2004, his family received a call from an unknown individual claiming Grullon was in the hospital, but checks with area hospitals and rehabilitation centers yielded no information. His family fears for his safety.
The West New York Police Department is investigating and can be reached at 201-295-5000.
