You ever swear to the hero who showed mercy on you that they’d regret it, only to lose all desire to wreak havoc the moment you manage to see for the first time the world the gods sacrificed themselves to make and sadly muse with some degree of befuddlement that you could have been a part of such a beautiful world had your master been willing to swallow their pride and fear and sacrifice part of themself?
There's this one boss dude in Unslaad called Pelinaalilargus the winged fox or smth like that. I'm name's a combination of Pelinal and Nafilaargus (Tiber Septim's dragon ig). It's also a dragon but it's got feathers and it has a dragon soul.
This might be stupid but could it be a Jill? I remember that the Jills in Dac0da had feathers and I think there might be a connection, unless there's something super obvious I'm missing.
Thank you for your time and have an awsome day.
Thanks for the question! Honestly I’ve never gotten a sudden lore question before so this has been fun to investigate. Short answer is no, Pelinaalilargus isn’t a Jill, but the confusion makes sense as he has a similar model to the others. That being said this is a bit of an interesting hare rabbit hole to get into!
Dragons and Jills are one of those lore bits that have static gender roles baked into them, and as the Pelinaalilargus we encounter is actually Hans the Fox (Herkel states as much before the fight), he would be a male dragon like the rest we see in base Skyrim. The name Pelinaalilargus actually comes from The Five Hundred Mighty Companions or Thereabouts of Ysgramor the Returned. There he’s referred to as “Pelinaalilargus the Pragmatist,” though even with that different name it may still the same character within the Owlc0da, but maybe not entirely. It’s complicated because we’re immediately getting into the topic of Shezarrines which I’m a bit unqualified to speak on, but I’ve done my best to review what’s important for this topic’s details.
In short, Shezarrines are various incarnations of Lorkhan / Shezarr, which Ysgramor, Pelinal, Hans the Fox, and the Last Dragonborn are all candidates or examples of the Owlc0da storyline. I’m wary to be fully definitive about my answers as these are murky grounds, but going off that idea, Ysgramor is technically also Pelinal who is also Pelinaalilargus who is also Hans the Fox who is also us, but also not as all of them are their own people as well. It’s not as direct of a “LDB is encountering themself from another broken timeline” situation as the Anatomancer or other instances in Glen-Moril, but there’s a similarity there.
Honestly I say there’s no stupid questions when it comes to the fine details of this story. It’s a tough one to remember all the pieces of when there’s an encyclopedia of official material it references constantly! That’s part of why I love it though.
Thanks for providing me the thrill of playing archivist again for a bit, mysterious messenger!
