Great Is Your Faithfulness

Bragging Rights
“But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know Me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!” Jeremiah 9:24NLT
Can we truly say ‘I know the Lord?’ Have we the ‘bragging rights’ on knowing Him? Millions will say, ‘I KNOW the Lord. I go to church.’ This is like saying, ‘I KNOW the President, I’m American.’ Most adult citizens are aware of who the President is, either Trump or Biden. Only God intimately ‘knows’ the President, very few others.
Some say, ‘No one can know the Lord.’ Wrong. Knowing God comes simply from spending time with Jesus in the scriptures, especially John. He wants to be known by us. Read about God’s love: study the gospels: read Psalms 139— you’re not an accident.
Intimately knowing your spouse is important. Lou and I were married for forty-two years, but rarely ‘lived together’ a full week, because of his work travel. We didn’t ‘know’ each other fully. Assumed much about each other. Now— after traveling and being with Lou daily, 24/7 since 2011, I KNOW Lou, his moods— teasing, discouragement, angry, or happy. In the same manner, knowing God is more than occasionally reading a few scriptures; listening to Christian music or sermons. Knowing God intimately takes quantities of time spent in meditating in His Word, in prayer in listening for His voice.
When I say ‘spend time,’ I’m talking about your lifetime. Jack Frost, a preacher, teacher, evangelist served hardline holiness for years, becoming disillusioned with the entire burden of church, and Christianity. He quit preaching. After hiding from God for months, he spent over twenty-four months studying and meditating upon the book of John. From this experience he wrote books, and preached about Father God’s love. I attended services and studied his CD series. My favorite ‘From Slavery To Sonship’ totally set me free from an orphan spirit. Slowly, I began to see God as Abba, my Papa God, THE Trustworthy One Who LOVES me. “…God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you…” Colossians 1:27NASB.
“For who has known the mind of the Lord, that He will instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1Corinthians 2:16NASB. Inside of me I hear, “I’m a good Father, Who extends mercy.” Recognizing that quiet voice, I heard God telling me, years before we saw the darkness of the world as vividly as we do today ‘Pray against the darkness and abortion. Pray for mercy and favor for My people. Pray for every hidden thing to be revealed.’ Such knowledge is having the mind of Christ.
Jesus told us “Those who accept My commandments and obey them are the ones who love Me. …because they love Me, My Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal Myself to each of them.” John 14:21NLT Obedience to His words brings revelation of His great love for you. Understanding God’s LOVE causes obedience to come easy.
Unfailing LOVE brings righteousness, and justice upon all mankind. Doesn’t He give everyone rain, sun, water, warmth, cold and heat? See Matthew 5:45. Boasting only comes to those who know Him intimately enough to hear His voice. Do you stand with Christ and study to know Him better? One day He’ll establish His justice and righteousness as the rule upon the earth. His intimate friends will rule His kingdom with Him, see Revelation 5:10; 20:4-6. Will you be among those who can boast and rule? It’s your choice. You choose.
PRAYER: Papa God, we want to know You intimately— have bragging rights about knowing You. Set us afire with greater desire to know, serve and love You, in Jesus Christ’s name I pray.
