I got into the game at the tiny baby age of 16, which is crazy now as a nearing 25 year old, which is still a freakin' baby age in the grand scheme of things. But damn have I grown since I first found this game and it took up so much of my time, love and brain up until 2019 when FC5 came and implanted itself in my frontal lobe. I also got into the selfshipping community in 2016 and I met SO MANY amazing people and while a lot of people I knew are gone (Ash I miss u wherever u are I hope ur thriving) I cherish those experiences I had and I owe all of those great times to Papyrus freaking Undertale (my beloved, wholly affectionate, I will never be normal about him.)

When I first played the game I was all on board the Sans train, I related to aspects of his character a lot and I projected onto him big time (pun through the pain). But at some point I started shifting towards Papyrus, the optimistic, golden hearted royal guard in training who never gave up and was smarter than people gave him credit for. I think I saw a lot of myself in him then when I really paid attention, I had friends but I was lonely and I never felt like I had real connections, I was underestimated and kept in the dark about things people didn't think I could understand. All that is to say I owe a lot of my growth as a person to this pixel skeleton and I will keep drawing silly art of my self insert holding his hand until the sun implodes.

I hope in 2025 I let go of some of the shame and fear I somehow got corroded with and enjoy my interests more freely without worrying about people's opinions or the quality of my art that is supposed to be for fun. I want it to be my fun, safe space again and not just something to support myself with financially. And I want to draw myself kissing that skeleton.
