Man this little brain worm really wriggled into my head a week after finishing Deltarune Chapter 5. I need to get this out.
Here me out: Undertale AU where instead of killing the other six fallen humans, Asgore kept them all alive and has been raising them. (Except everyone else was under the misconception he actually killed them. Cuz he still made the whole declaration of war against humanity. Just wussed out when it came to actually following through.)
(The only person who knows the other humans are alive is Mad Dummy/Maddie, because she swears there's this stupid human child in an Aqua dress and bow that likes stabbing her when she does her part time shift at the castle. No one believes her.)
(She likes the little one with the Orange gloves though. Best friends, even if she can't throw a punch to save her life.)

Undertale's Human Souls: A summary and why I am SHOCKED they don't get much attention in our fandom.
Alright so big disclaimer this...essay...ramble...something is being written at 7 PM so I may need to tweak, fix, and rewrite things later in the morning.
So: as most people know, the six human souls were six humans that climbed Mount Ebott, fell in, and then died at some point. They are extremely vague and leave a lot of room for a lot of discussion.
Who were they, why did they die, how did they die, who killed them, what killed them, why they had the items they had, etc, etc.
They have very basic information on them, yes, but nothing extremely big about...well...any of them.
I already made a huge post about each of the human souls with fellow soul enthusiasts, their armor, weapons, and other information, so if you want a good read, go read that.
So...that's out of the way. Now I have a thought...a wonder...if they're so expansive...so empty and uncharacterized...why are they neglected by the fandom?
Go ahead, search them up, I'm right. Most people do are designs and a bit of writing, but it's only a very specific subsection of the community that does anything with those takes, such as prequel fangames, fan comics, fanfics, etc.
In fact...most people just don't bother to design Justice and just slap on Clover without being unique with it, not even a different design, just Clover.
So...why?
Well: I explained it above. They're not known. They don't have names, designs, or stories. People want to write what they know more often then not. It's why we have so many sans fangames, fanfics, and AUs rather then more content for the human souls or ANY other UT character really.
It's also why Clover is just slapped into most timelines. Undertale: Yellow is an extremely popular fangame, and many take it as canon (EVEN THOUGHT IT ISN'T-) so...it's only fair they'd decide to just use them and make it easier on themselves.
That's actually a secondary reasoning! Not many people want to put most effort into their stories and simply focus on the designs, and so they don't put much attention on their stories, or more importantly, the amount of information we do know on each soul.
Sometimes however, I feel there's a third reason...
I sometimes feel as if people forget these souls...ARE CHARACTERS.
(Well...were.)
They USED to be people. They used to be CHILDREN. They used to be kids that entered Mount Ebott and explored the Underground in vain to how Frisk did, only to eventually come across something they could not get past, and lose their will, losing their determination, and sealing their fate.
The human souls are extremely tragic and their tragedy and depth is large enough to make me confused others don't focus on them as much as they honestly deserve to be focused on.
In my opinion, if most people focused more on the human souls, we'd have more prequels done then just UTY. I feel we'd have a lot of works in many different mediums with different plots, timelines, all of that!

This is how I think the Patience/Perseverance SOULs in Undertale (that Aqua and Seth parallel in Deltarune) would look like. The original images wouldn't load, so I had to screenshot everything.
I Didn't know weather to give Aqua black hair or blue hair to match the hair color outline thing that Frisk and I think Chara has. I think I might redo her sprite in the near future in general. I was also kinda nervous Seth would turn out kinda weird, mainly because their sprite is much more detailed, which clashes with Undertale's simpler graphics, but I love how they turned out.

Also someone's probably gonna tear at my throat for this so I'll just say it right now: After chapter 5, I kinda doubt that the order of the 7 human souls are based off of when they entered the underground but rather how far they made it in the underground before inevitably being captured and killed, and even then the Patience SOUL's items are dropped in the ruins while Perseverance SOUL's items are in the middle of waterfall. I really only have this headcanon or the simple fact I just think its neat but here I go *inhale*: They're half-siblings.
Undertale Aqua/Patience headcanons 🩵
Seven years old (Birthday is January 3rd)
full name is Aquamarine. Seth calls her Aqua, but her parents use her full name, so she’s more used to that. (Based on this quote from Deltarune: "Aqua? Who’s Aqua?")
Has dyscalculia
Very agile. Which makes sense because she’s a child.
Doesn’t know that there are two shades of blue.
The reason she has the patience soul, is because you need to be patient with her.
Knows Seth’s dead name and preferred name. Not knowing any better, switched between both names, but eventually gets used the calling them Seth as they bond in the underground.
Like playing toy knife related games, like pirates (lol) or knights (lel) or pirates and knights.
Seth got her a ribbon for one of her birthdays. She loved it so much, so she almost never took it off. She even tried to wear it in the bath once, but her parents forced her to take it off, making her very upset. She wasn’t allowed to wear it for a week after that. Her parents hid it somewhere where she couldn’t reach, forcing her to patiently wait until she could get it back...(Papyrus parallel because I can) In the end, she lost the ribbon in the RUINS.
Also will only wear one pair of sneakers and won’t take them off (unless they need to because their at their house or in someone else’s house)
Missing tooth where her Deltarune counterpart’s prominent fang would be.
Clearly needs a haircut. Toriel gives her bangs a slight trim.
Saw fighting monsters as some sort of game
Dies near Snowdin/waterfall.
Undertale Seth/Perseverance headcanons 💜
14 years old (Birthday is April 5th)
Closeted nonbinary (wears baggy clothes to appear more androgynous)
Hates their dead name, ****** (another word for “purple”). Wants to be called Seth ("I told you, I’m not “Purple”, my NAME, is Seth!")
Has nothing against the color purple, they just don’t like their name.
Messy note taker. Notebook used for research/studying and as a diary.
High expectations set on them and by their peers to be highly intelligent and know as much as possible. (Kinda Berdly parallel?)
Obviously forced to be a responsible older sibling
Has pulled many all nighters studying.
Aqua wanted to snoop in on their older sibling one time while journaling and grabbed Seth’s notebook. Seth, not wanting her to look, tries to yank it away from her, causing them to get into a tug of war match that ended in that page being torn. Seth, embarrassed, scribbled out everyone on that page and related to that page. (Torn Notebook is described as "Contains illegible scrawls")
They have bad handwriting. They can write cursive but that makes their writing even more illegible (Contains illegible scrawls)
Related to Aqua because their mom remarried and gave birth to her with their stepdad (This is an Over the Garden Wall reference)
Has a huge overbite; needs braces but never got them because they FELL INTO THE FUCKING UNDERGROUND
Oddly compared to bunnies
Can flip quickly between being a tired teenager to a huge nerdy dork
Reads to Aqua before bed. Not because she listens to the stories, but because they send her to sleep.
Barely cleans their glasses
Brought a backpack with them while on a family camping trip near Mt. Ebott, but didn’t have it on them when Aqua went missing (fell into the underground)
Fascinated with human/monster history, but never felt confident enough to explore the underground until that fateful day… (when them and Aqua fall into the underground)
Learns to trust Aqua and themself more while in the underground, or at least…does until Aqua gets captured.
Messy/matted hair. Toriel combs/cleans it for them.
I don't really have a headcanon as for how they got into the underground. At first I went with "family camping trip gone wrong" but I kinda don't like that. I also want to give them a last name but can't think of anything. Please give surname/Entrance to the underground ideas in the replies/reblogs. I am DESPERATE. /no pressure

Can go from loud to bold to quiet and anxious in a snap.

Alex was the second human to fall after the deceased Chara Dreemurr, and is described in the legend's first iteration as "The Weak Blue One" with the soul of INTEGRITY.
Distastes happily ever after, graceful and brutally honest.
HUMAN THREE - ALISON - KINDNESS
Alison was the third human to fall after the deceased Chara Dreemurr, and is described in the legend's first iteration as "The Sweet Green One" with the soul of KINDNESS.
Kind, too her own detrament.
HUMAN FOUR - ALLIE - BRAVERY
Allie was the fourth human to fall after the deceased Chara Dreemurr alongside her brother, and is described in the legend's first iteration as "The Stubborn Orange One" with the soul of BRAVERY.
Brave, rough, and risk first.
HUMAN FIVE - ALEN - PERSEVERANCE
Alen was the fourth human to fall after the deceased Chara Dreemurr alongside his sister, and is described in the legend's first iteration as "The Smart Purple One" with the soul of PERSEVERANCE.
Smart, collected, but nosy.
HUMAN SIX - ALISTER - JUSTICE
The fifth Alice to fall after Chara Dreemurr. Nobody truly talked about him, as his time in Mount Ebott was the most uneventful. The soul of JUSTICE.
