UNDERTALE LORE:
(I have played maybe a third of this game)
-the kid that fell off a cliff is non-binary
-the skeletons' parents really liked fonts
-Undyne cannot die nor can she aim
-I cannot just talk my way out of these predicaments, I have to actually play
- the ghost kid is very neat
-Toby fox is not a fox, he is a dog, but he may also be a Toby (this is unconfirmed as of yet)
-dogs are technically monsters
I am an expert, as you can tell
Soul Development (Undertale headcanon)
Okay so putting this here bc it'll be relevant in an upcoming fic chapter.
In my interpretation of the Undertale universe's soul/magic system (just the og no special aus or anything) is that souls are the source of all magic.
The reason why human souls have color and monster's don't is because of their soul's main traits/attributes directly affect their soul's magical capabilities.
Human magic heavily depends on what color/trait the soul has, which while more restricting gives them a higher magical output.
Monsters wield a greater control of magic and can experiment with different types/shapes, but can be more draining as a result.
In early stages of human life their soul's start off the same color as monsters do, over time it starts to gain color (around toddler age is when colors start to appear). As humans grow up their soul will gain more colors and will eventually solidify as one color after reaching adult hood (roughly).
Which means that for humans their main trait can change overtime, but will eventually settle at some point :)
hey deltarune/undertale lore people.
if the soul can be separated from the body like in deltarune
why don't they just do that in undertale to deal with the barrier
sure that would suck for us, the player, but it seems like an additional outcome that isn't possible in game
History of the Underground (Fellswap Silver AU) Part 1/2
After the death of Asriel and Frisk there was an argument between The Undergroundâs monarchs.
Toriel believed that there was still good in humanity, Frisk was evidence of that. Asgore believed that humans should pay for all that theyâve done to monsterkind and wished to launch another war.
The argument was loud and destructive, witnessed by several of the palaceâs staff. Eventually Toriel won by pointing out the hypocrisy within Asgoreâs argument, claiming that he was just as bad as the humans the feared. Asgore, enraged and ashamed, fled from the palace and into The Ruins and hasnât been heard from since.
Toriel tasked The Royal Guard with keeping peace throughout the Underground and capture any humans that make their way through, by any means necessary.
Eventually a few humans fall, and are taken in to the queen. None make it to the surface.
In an effort to heal her grief, Toriel had lied to each human, saying that there was no way through the barrier because it was designed that way. She kept every human under her care, until eventually they perished.
Humans canât survive solely off of magical food like monsters, they need vitamins and nutrients (which monster food lacks). Thanks to the help of the Royal Scientist after analyzing the human corpses, Toriel figured this out.
She continued kept this a secret from the rest of the public, swearing the scientist to secrecy and forbidding any other monster to research human biology. There are constant weekly raids on the dump and houses to ensure no information about humans get out. Toriel feared that if monsters knew how weak the human body could be that it could mean the end of ensuring humans safe travel to her castle.
Toriel began giving the humans a choice, she would either kill them instantly, or she would allow them to live for a little while longer before the burden of living became too much for them.
The Capital has almost stayed entirely unchanged for years, meaning it is severely underdeveloped technologically compared to the rest of the underground. This isnât true for the rest of the Underground however.

Who's The One Last Person That Needs To Be Saved?
Asriel
Chara
Lemme cook please I beg
So like humans can use save points all the time right?
Its just an observation Iâve made that like⌠thereâs never any narration being surprised to see a save point, like Frisk just uses them and Chara isnât like âa weird star is before youâ theres just a star and you think about your determination and you get a free heal.
Is that just a thing humans can do in UT?
Like. The healing part, the loading only works because the underground is like a whole âworldâ or something so flowey wasnât competing with 7 billion people.
Like save points also just kinda⌠pop up? Sometimes?
Never anything thatâs surprised by this. Undyne is just like âYO KID GET HYPED AND PREPARE!â And a save point just pops up because youâre hyped.
Like not for nothing but we are able to turn our will into healing items against Asriel.
Just a thought. For Undertale humans just having save points as a part of their lives.
Like a little magical breathing exercise humans will reference casually
