"Self-described as Denmark’s one and only Dark Cabaret band, and “unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.” Formed in 2009 in Esbjerg, Denmark, the band consists of seven members: Vocalists Martin Klein Sørensen and Kirsten Bjerregaard; , Ivories Strings and Brass by Mathias Bjørnskov, Mads Lind and Niels Erik Mårup, Bass played by Christian Kronberg and Drums by Sebasian Fibiger.
The group’s jazzy-showtune style takes heavy influence from the likes of old theatrical cabaret and the Jazz Age of the 1920s, as well as a dash of modern rock to provide a new-age tinge to their old-age aesthetic; their name “Kabaret Sybarit” deriving from the Danish word for “Cabaret,” and an obscure Danish term used to describe male hedonists in the 1930s, “Sybarit”.
The group has sadly since disbanded back in 2015 and no longer create music together, but once a year gather together once more to perform their discography onstage."
