I would really like to know more the dynamics between the MC and the characters pre cove!
(I can't remember if the mc knew them pre cove or not but I'm pretty sure they did but if not I'd like to know what the rest of the characters were like in highschool and the relationships and whatnot)
Okay so.
There's like 1 school per town in the Aster Sea with the exception of Academia Cities. Those are the big cities with most of the libraries and like universities.
There's no age range for the schools as they just offer information in the form of classes rather than being based on enrollment?
Like. They just teach things, math, inscribed, reading, basic things about the different part of the Aster Sea. They do have like courses but nobody is forced to attend.
Kinda like a library program I guess? You come to learn if you want without any obligation. Obviously children are the most common and consistent visitors, but they're not obligated.
Marí attended a Medical university in one of the Acadmia Cities during her 3 years apart from everyone.
So there's no high-school. It's general school -> Libraries -> University
Cough, anyway.
As a reminder, Chor left their home and came to the Aster Sea in search of adventure. And he's genderfluid.
Rio, Marco, and Marí were friends for like 4 months before meeting Chor.
Chor met them when she visited Coral Town for the first time.
Nauta and Daphne had been friends for 2 years before meeting the rest of the group also visiting Coral Town around the same time as Chor.
Chor had a hard time talking to the group at first but they eventually figured out how to speak in their Seal form.
They all became fast friends due to being the closet in age in the town.
They went on a few adventures together. Visiting different towns and checking out different rumors and legends they heard about.
Chor has always been very confident and kind, but a bit short tempered. She's always been very independent but she does enjoy company. He had a lot of fun hanging out with his friends. Part of them thought it would last forever.
Marí used to be quite shy. She was always very kind and put others before herself. She's always had the most noticeable self sacrificial tendencies out of the group. She was constantly checking Río and Chor for injuries, even if she wasn't sure how to treat them.
Nauta was very cautious and tried to seem as responsible and reliable as possible. To the point of becoming overprotective. She doesn't want to doubt her friends but she did. She talked to Daphne the most about her problems.
Río was shy but tried to pretend to be confident. He would get hurt the most out of everyone on their adventures causing Marí and Nauta to worry about him to the point of douting his abilities. He was determined to become more reliable like Nauta.
Daphne has always been very sweet and cheerful. She was always a bit hyper aware of how everyone was feeling to the point were they felt like they couldn't hide anything from her. She never talked about her past before Nauta and she's hard to read so nobody knows as much about her as she does about the group.
Marco wasn't shy as much as he was nervous. He got along well with people but he worried about their opinions on him a lot. He used to struggle with his self confidence to the point were he doubted his friends liked him. They did reassure him when they found out. Sometimes it still bothers him.
Moving on to the actual past dynamics with Chor and Crew:
Chor and Marco: 1 braincell each. Could not be left alone for 3 minutes or they would start doing dumb shut that would get at least 1 of them hurt.
Chor and Río: Chor used to think that Río was the coolest person in the group. They took his confident act at face value. Río always found them to be a calming presence.
Chor and Nauta: Nauta has always underestimated Chor in a way that was so clearly rooted in care. Chor tried so hard to be patient and prove to Nauta that they could be were capable. When he were doing cool things with anyone else Nauta wasn't there and when she was she would try to stop Chor out of fear of him getting hurt. They both care about each other a lot and outside of danger they used to get along well.
Chor and Daphne: They were two rays of sunshine. Daphne always managed to make Chor feel more at home with few words. Daphne loved seeing the world from Chors perspective.
Chor and Marí: Marí was always a bit worried about Chor, as much as she was about Rio really. She did recognize how capable and confident Chor was and aspired to be more like them.
