Self-care isn't always fun.
Sometimes, it looks like doing your laundry or brushing your teeth even though you're beyond exhausted or feeling paralyzed by depression.
Self-care isn't always about bath bombs and bubbly. Sometimes, it's about getting out of bed on time.
Don't let the commodofication of self-care fool you into thinking that the overpriced, "luxury" bath bombs, the salty-ass french fries or the fifth glass of wine are nourishing you.
Sure, sometimes we need to balance out our discipline with a little vice and letting go...but above all else:
Listen to yourself. Respect yourself. Love yourself NO MATTER WHAT. Only you know what you need....and be unconditional with your commitment to your own joy and well-being. You are worth it- and the whole universe benefits from you being at your very best.
Don't let any company dictate your sacred practice.
Don't let any self-doubt or criticism disturb your sense of self-worth.
Every act of self-care is sacred....even the laundry. It isn't always easy or fun- but it is always worth it.
So- have the hard conversation....
Say no to the extra, unnecessary, draining commitment
Call people out for problematic behavior
Refuse to be treated as subhuman
Buy the 99 cent bath bubbles instead of the overpriced luxury brand
Sit with yourself, immersed in satisfying thoughts about your own worth
Remind yourself that spirit cherishes you and longs for you
Practice emotional self-reliance
Believe in your abilities to keep going
Work on releasing addictions
and remind yourself that you matter no matter what (do this one more than anything else)!
Put your phone away, brush your teeth and put yourself to bed at a reasonable hour.
Serve your soul in every aspect of your life.
This serves your highest good and the highest good of the entire universe.
Love and light angelic creatures ๐
