A bunch of things do not add up in this story. Jughead flashed a photograph of Betty's relative in uniform, thinking she would be taking a young hottie, referenced in the story as out of Korea. We are years on from the truce so that would bring the man Veronica thinks she is going into his twenties -- mind you, to attend a high school dance. It takes a bit of doing to get Uncle John to go on this date with Veronica -- he has scruples, after all, and would not want to have a name placed on a registry. As so happens, though, the army photograph is actually for Uncle John's father. Who comes in all in uniform from his time with the Spanish-American War. Would the outdated uniforms not be noticeable in the photograph?
