See you in your dinosaur onesie,

Watch as you sleep

Out of fear I'll lose you

Like I do in my dreams.

Maybe I'll get to carry you in my tummy,

Say I'm eating for two.

Feel you move around,

Have you kick my bladder,

Come up with names despite already knowing yours.

Maybe you'll grow up to be an astronaut,

Like your space themed bedroom suggests.

Perhaps a doctor

After you read my medical books.

Or even a paleontologist,

Because I know you'll love dinosaurs.

Maybe you'll be like me,

Jumping at all the scary movies,

Always afraid of what will come next.

Even in life.

Maybe you'll be better for the world,

Because in this one,

You can't exist.

I love you too much,

Too close,

To ever let you deal with the pain I go through.

I see others go through.

Maybe,

Maybe I'll hold you.

Maybe,

Maybe I'll have you.

Maybe,

Maybe the world will be a kinder place in our next life,
