the ringing in his ears had finally faded and the adrenaline in his system began to wear off, allowing himself to finally feel the immense pain in his arm. the makeshift bandage around his right arm slightly concealed the damage that had been done; a small, thick piece a metal remained lodged through his forearm and he pushed away the thought that was telling him to pull it out, knowing it was the only thing stopping the major bleeding. eyes catch movement among the rubble and his hand held his damaged arm close to him, and voice slight faltered as he called out, “ hey! ”

he was struck with guilt. the monster that pike was had twisted his mind and the chip had taken away all feelings relating to the event of the massacre, and the sensation was back stronger than ever now that a.l.i.e had been destroyed. scott was plagued by memories ( mostly in the form of nightmares ) and he tried his best to seem unbothered, but he needed someone to talk to — to listen to what he had to say so that he could get it off his chest. “ i thought i was doing the right thing, but i know now that i wasn’t. which is why it’s important to me that you and everyone else survives what’s coming at us. ”

he was tense at first, but catching sight of the individual made him relax as soon as recognition hit him and the nervous fidgeting of his hands stopped. a gentle, yet small, smile formed on features and blue eyes remained trained on her. however, he immediately looked away fearing that he would intimidate her and spoke softly. “ i apologize if i seem ... intimidating. ”
