I don't know if I am any of those things, but if I'm anything, I'm an advocate for 83. Well, if I am just a single thing, I'm a person, but more specifically, I'm a person with messy emotions and stuff like that, and I'm intensely neurodivergent: AuDHD and BPD, but I try to rise above my struggles and love people well in the process...

Hi, I'm UMO, and this is my updated introduction 😃

I like ponies, furries, fractals, math, typology, image/graphics processing, audio processing, microtonality/xenharmony, games in the platformer genre, memes, deltarune lore (kinda sorta), TADC, cats, I can go on...

My blog does not have any focus whatsoever. I reblog and talk about the things that are important to me, that's about it. Sometimes I'll spurt a random thought, usually I think it's funny and I'm hoping other people will find it too. Other times I have deeper thoughts about stuff, sometimes concept and/or fandom specific, and sometimes just about life in general, so if you like text walls, you've come to the right place.

Shameless plug: I do have YouTube and Bandcamp if you're interested. Obviously I make music, which you'll see on both sites. My music is pretty electronic in nature, but I like to prioritize the way my music makes me feel (and hopefully it makes you guys feel things too) over the raw experimentation of digital composition and sound design. Also, I use microtones (aka xenharmony) to make people feel weird things, but sometimes I overthink the theory involved instead of playing with something until I come up with something that moves me. On the YouTube side, I would also like to make vids on other interests, so I guess wish me luck with regards to exploring that avenue...

My brain does weird things sometimes. One way I like to explain this is with personality typology frameworks like MBTI, so I can talk about how being an INFJ with Ni/Fe/Ti/Se as my cognitive functions might explain why I'm eluding you, or something like that.

Take that as you will. If you don't care, more power to you, at least that means you're not likely to constantly analyze my interactions with you to see if it fits your perception of my type label or not. (Some people don't think I'm an INFJ, and that's fair, but that still bothers me sometimes, as I explain below)

If you do care (and especially if you like to determine other people's types in MBTI, Socionics, Enneagram, etc...), please be aware of my paranoia around people judging my understanding (especially of myself) as inaccurate or even unsound.

Shall we step into today's recording? Unknown Mortal Orchestra (UMO) is a psychedelic rock band originally from Auckland, New Zealand, now based in Portland, Oregon. The band was founded in 2009 by multi-instrumentalist Ruban Nielson, who initially started it as a solo project after leaving his previous band, The Mint Chicks. UMO blends elements of lo-fi, indie rock, garage rock, and R&B, creating a unique sound that has earned them critical acclaim.

This song is part of UMO’s upcoming EP CURSE, set to release on June 18, 2025. The EP takes inspiration from Italian horror films of the 1970s and 1980s, reflecting dark and cathartic themes. Boys with the Characteristics of Wolves features abrasive, Black Sabbath-inspired riffs, contrasting with the intricate guitar work that UMO is known for.

I needed something to doodle, so now we have Umo, a little Rottmnt oc with no lore or story. I’ve had the idea of a lil guy named umo in a dinosaur onesie for awhile but I literally have no lore behind it. If anyone has backstory ideas for Umo feel free to send me an ask :>
