'Painting The Windmill' 🎨 From the West Coast of LA, to the South East Coast of England. Once again I took the opportunity to sketch outdoors, painting both coasts within days of each other. 🌊 This time I only had to travel a short ride away from where I live in central Brighton. This is the Windmill which is a little further east along the coast, just outside the villages Roedean and Rottingdean. I got off the bus and walked up past the windmill and found a place to sit in the grass. I thought I was free of distractions when just as I started to sketch everything in, a photographer and a model turned up for a shoot, right in my line of vision. But I tuned them out quickly and focused. Painted alla prima watercolour & gouache on location, this is the result!
