They used to say it takes a village to raise kids. And this is true in Demi’s case. Starting from Vicky, her Nanny, when she was born, then Mami as a toddler, then Fior when we moved to Florida, then Jaime when we went back to NY, then Nancy when we moved Atlanta. In between and until now, her Godmother Glendy was there for cool clothes, and great advice. Kevin, the fun loving uncle. Our butterfly in heaven Aida, always there in the most important moments of her life, except the last 2. Most recently, Lily, another loving sister/mother. There are too many others to name. And let’s not forget all her brother’s and sisters. Kevin Thomas, Bella, Alex, Sabrina & Samantha, Arleny, Henry, Mya, Damian, Kaylee, Haylee, and many other cousins and friends that became the siblings she didn’t have. Last, but not least, her amazing Daddy for being such a loving, caring, and fun Daddy. Because of this or despite it, Demi was an exemplary student since she started day care, honor student in elementary and middle school, graduated with high honors from high school, was accepted by UGA, FIU and UCF, and went to the second largest school in the nation despite what the bitch of her school counselor told her. And here we are only 3 1/2 years later, she receives a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. Thanks for saving us a semester! The best part is that she is the Editor in Chief of Nonahood News, the local paper. Words cannot describe my incredible pride and a sense of accomplishment that I too had something to do with it, but it is all her hard work and triumph. Congratulations Demi and continued success in all you do! We love you!

~Every day's a little harder, as I feel my power grow. Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go... into the unknown?~ Two and a half years ago, I moved out here to Florida knowing nothing more than that I wanted to pursue an education in Theatre. I had no clue what I wanted to do with it after I graduated, no clue where I wanted to go or who I wanted to be. While I still don't know the answers to any of those questions, along the way I've met so many people who have changed my life (shout out to @theaterchris for taking these amazing photos), had experiences that make me grateful for the little things, and the big things, and have made more memories than I can ever count. Graduating college is bittersweet. This chapter is closing, but I don't know what comes next. Just like Elsa, I'm quite literally traveling into the unknown as I try to discover who I am. And just like Elsa, I’ll have to get a little lost on my way to being found.
