Which laptop did you end up getting?

I went with option 2, faster but with less hard drive space -- it’s an Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 touchscreen, 15″ screen. It arrived yesterday and aside from one or two scuffs (I did buy it scratch and dent, so, expected) it’s Just So Beautiful. :D 

I’m taking my time in setting it up because a) that’s always the hardest part and b) the external hard drive I bought hasn’t arrived yet, but today’s docket involves wiping Cortana and installing a bunch of software (Firefox, Audacity, VLC, uTorrent, Steam and Epic Games, etc) and setting a bunch of privacy and sound preferences. 

Cleaning out my files has been super cathartic. I didn’t really have time to do it properly last time, since I was just trying to evacuate all my files from the old laptop in case it totally gave up the ghost; this time the laptop I’m moving from is functional, it’s just a piece of crap.

I SEE WHAT U DID THERE. 

An indicator of the quality of this craptop is that it took it like half an hour to extract the zip, so it WAS a lot to unpack in the end.

Another idea would be smaller black-led activist groups in other cities? As an example, I live in the Middle of Nowhere, and Progressive Leaders of Tomorrow in Binghamton, NY has been protesting police misconduct and deaths at my local jail for years. Minneapolis is (rightfully) getting a lot of the focus rn, but there's excellent antiracist work going on everywhere that needs support!

We now have evidence that the internet cryptid has eyes and a forehead. The rest remains up to speculation

In theory I also have one hand and at least one foot but evidence is scarce. :D

can't tell if that's a fur lined hood or if your mullet has just gone hog wild in quarantine, sam.

I was thinking when I posted the photo that the hood makes me look like I have hair like my dentist had in the early 90s...

I was trying to figure out when you got the 80's Rocker hair...then realized it was your hood.

I’ve never had a fur-lined hood before, and I have to admit it takes some getting used to. And you gotta eat some before you figure it out...

Well, I am widening them there for dramatic effect :D Nothing will ever be as good as the one rolling eye in the first photo, though.

It’s just so clearly someone who knows what’s happening is wrong but doesn’t know how to articulate it. I’ve been there, and I felt for her, because I’ve only been there with like...someone spending too much on catering for a work party. And she’s there at the END OF THE WORLD.

HAHA, I wondered. It’s a great addition, really, adds a nice touch without warping anything from the original story.

And I agree with you about Queen but actually wished they'd used a little more. Not much, just like 30 seconds longer in places. Just for like Mood.

I would have been okay with a bit more of it. I was just worried we were going to have to sit through the whole damn song, since I understand it was a bit of a wrestle to get the rights in the first place.

I too have been pronouncing Crowley wrong for a long time. And Amma Ris is FANTASTIC. A+ casting for the Them.

They really did a tremendous job, all four of them, but she stood out in particular.

Of course it is. And of course Crowley would have it. I love this. Thank you for bringing it my attention.

What I like best is imagining it’s not even the REAL Maltese Falcon, it’s the fake, and he has to fend off roughly 4-5 thievery attempts a year by people who don’t realize that.

Mr. Young's license plate reads "SID RAT" which is obviously TARDIS backwards. I think they should have been swapped considering Tennant.

See, that would have been funny but too on the nose! It’s lovely that it’s his dad who has the TARDIS car.

Most fridges allow it, at least here in the US! You can check your fridge -- look at the very top and if there’s a hinge on one side and either drill holes or a couple of plastic “caps” that could be hiding drill holes on the other, your fridge doors are modular.

What you do is, take off the top hinge, take the freezer door off by lifting it up and off the middle hinge, take the middle hinge off, and take the fridge door off by lifting it up off the bottom hinge. Then you move the bottom hinge to the other side and reattach it, put the fridge door on, take the handle off the fridge door and move it to the other side, put the middle hinge on the opposite side it was on before and secure it to the fridge door, put the freezer door on the top of the middle hinge, move the freezer door handle to the opposite side, then finally put the top hinge back on the top of the fridge on the opposite side. (Obvs. this is for a freezer-top unit, but the point is to start at the top of the unit and work your way down.)

It sounds like a lot of work, but if you don’t count the break I took to buy tools, it probably took me like 20 minutes max. There are how-tos with pictures online if you google “swap fridge door” or similar.

If you put a thin, decorative something (like at towel) up on the wall you can cover the fuse box and help prevent the door handles from denting the wall.

You know honestly I don’t think it’ll even be an issue? I was worried about the hinge part bumping the wall, but it clears no problem, and the handles don’t even hit it when I open it wide enough to get food out. 

I am considering decorating the fusebox somehow, though, either painting it green or maybe doing some kind of design. Hanging a nice fabric print in front of it might be very stylish!

I just looked at my crummy fridge and it looks like I can swap hinges. No wonder it has side handles on both sides. I want to see if my apartment will let me do it because it's a PITA to put groceries away with it facing the entryway in my tiny kitchen. TY for this should-have-been-obvious-to-me reveal.

Good luck! If you have an awesome super/manager they might even do it for you, but if not just make sure you check every part (the top hinge, middle hinge, handles, and most importantly the bottom hinge) to make sure you have all the tools necessary. 

I had to buy a socket wrench and the right sized bit because I couldn’t get the bottom hinge’s bolts off with a normal crescent wrench; all told I needed a power screwdriver with a phillips-head bit, crescent wrench, socket wrench, and hex key to get everything swapped. You may not need all that, though, depends on the fridge.

errr... sam, should you not have painted behind the new fridge before installing it? and ditto on the door hitting the wall if you change it around.

I decided not to paint the kitchen -- they get so messy anyway, and I’m planning to renovate the kitchen extensively sometime in the next few years, so while I wanted to beautify the cabinets somewhat, painting the walls seemed like more trouble than it was worth. It will definitely be a MASSIVE pain to get the fridge out of there to paint behind it, but since I’ll have to (per the condo board) hire a contractor for some of the work anyway, I might as well pay someone else when the time comes.

I... don't get it? Like how did you remove the logo and move it to the other side?

I recommend that you remove that photo from public view, you can copy a key from a photo. 

you need at least one OC that you would cradle in your arms and is your babyfella. mine is called tzun and i would kill gods for him.
