Jace: [thinking] *Today was a good day, I didn’t even think about Emilia… Still, I’m laying here on my bed, spiraling, needing my pills. I shouldn’t take them… Sure they make me feel good, but they don’t solve my problem. They’re filling a void, a void that she left. Ugh, I want this to stop. Jace: Oh, I’m sorry. Was just lost in my mind… Just thinking about how my life took such a turn. It’s weird, really… I never felt at home in Glimmerbrook, even though I was born there and I’ve never seen anything else in my life, I felt stuck there. Actually, all my life I wanted to get out, I never belonged there… But I stayed. I stayed for someone that wasn’t worth staying for. [chuckles] Fuck, I’ll be 27 next week and I never even visited the beach, how sad is that?

Kiara: Ok, wow… wait. First of all, your birthday is next week?? Jace! Why didn’t you tell us??? 

Jace: I- 

Kiara: I’m not done! Second, if your birthday is next week, that answers my question about your star sign, you’re a Cancer! Interesting… Third, you have never visited the beach?? Never ever?

Jace: [chuckles] Never ever. 

Kiara: WOW! I… Why??  

Jace: I don’t know? I know we traveled when I was very little, I don’t remember anything though… After my dad passed away, my mother didn’t want to travel anymore. 

Kiara: Jace… I’m so sorry. It sounds like your dad’s passing took a toll on your mom. 

Jace: You have no idea… [sighs] Oh shit, is it 5am already? Did I ramble for that long? Why didn’t you shut me up? 

Kiara: [chuckles] I was enjoying our conversation, so I didn’t even see the time either… So, I’m gonna go to bed. 

Jace: Uh, wait… Kiara… Would you… stay with me?  

Kiara: I’m glad you asked… I really don’t want to sleep alone tonight either.
