first up, the groups bonding in the face of a perceived enemy group has been proved to be the case (look up the robbers cave study if u want). second, i think the wincels being conservative argument holds up psychologically. right ppl tend to like things that benefit and give power to their small closed group. its also been proven that conservatives value blood & tradition more than liberals so it makes sense theyd dislike a character from outside of the group (cas) changing the status quo.
Yeah there is thisย โphobiaโ of the outsiders who might come and hurt the family, except they donโt hurt it in anyway but there is this thing where people are obsessed over their families and want to keep everything within in and not let anyone in to the point every boyfriend/girlfriend is pushed away and these people rot in their own toxicity...
